I sure hate it for Juda if the staff did indeed ask him to de-commit. Talk about feeling a sense of betrayal. You ask a kid to commit. Accept his commitment. He feels like he is a part of something. And then you snatch it from him. I hate that, but I guess it is the nature of college football these days.
If true I think this is best for both parties...
Give me Williams and Rasco at DE and call it a day
Isn't everywhere not Hawaii the same to someone out there??? I mean you have to fly anywhere from there.
I really liked this guy, but as others have said, he probably wouldn't have stuck with us until NSD. A lot of good offers coming from the Pacific shore for him. Best of luck to him though. Hopefully he will never play against us.
It does suck but at the same time IF the kid was looking around and hadn't even taken a visit to UT yet, I can understand it. If we weren't in a pinch as far as numbers I think we would let in ride until NSD and see what happens. All this is conjecture though maybe TNgirl can tell us exactly what happened? I hope the kid does well wherever he ends up.I have thought about this "asking Juda to decommit" a bit more and have changed my mind.
I do not think that "he probably would not have stuck with us" is a good enough reason to ask a kid to decommit. Nor is just the fact that we decided we like someone else better a valid reason for asking him to "look around". We are morally obligated to honor our offer, in my opinion, unless there is more to the story than we now know.
We offered the kid and he accepted our offer and committed to us. Both acted in good faith and with full knowledge. I believe that there is more to the story about our asking Juda to decommit than we now know. If not, then as I noted above, I believe we are morally obligated to honor our offer to him and accept his commitment, welcoming him with open arms.

That's the only reason I can see for them to ask him to decommit. At the same time, it isn't like it would be just a short road trip for this kid to visit. Having a late and I mean late game by our time on Friday then trying to make it in on Sat would be hell. How can anyone be 100% committed to a school (& coaching staff) without a visit? Too risky for both the school and the player!
