Hang on boys here comes the star patrol!!! You know what's coming! CCS doesn't know what he is doing, he can tell talent, CDD can't recruit, our team is going to hell in a hand basket, etc. etc. etc..... We have all heard it before and we are going to hear it again, in 5...4...3...2...1...
Im sorry that i dont have your faith, the fact that you criticize everyone for being confused over the fact that we took a two star that only Weber State wanted is a true testament to your faith. :good!:

First of all, I didn't criticize, I just knew what was coming. Second, I have faith in a coach who has played at all levels and did it well. That's where my faith is in. I have never seen this dude, but CCS has. I trust what he saw. How many years did he play pro, 12 yrs I think. :hi:

I hope not. I have never seen a big time football program take this approach to recruiting. I am a supporter and will always show my support. I have supported every commitment that we have had so far, but this one is kind of shaky with me right now.

You believe in these rating agencies too much and you do it way too early. You don't get it, the rating agencies haven't even seen all these kids yet.

LSU signed Tyrann Mathieu last year and he was not even a 2-star, he was Not Rated. He came to camp, kicked ass, got an offer on the spot... within a few weeks he was a 4-star. Well, how did they miss the kid to start with?

You give these rating agencies too much credit, especially this early in the year.

Heck, LSU has signed a couple of Not Rated guys this year already... do I care, heck no, they kicked ass at camp. The rating agencies are behind the ball, they haven't even seen all these kids.

Im sorry if i falsely accused you of something but even though CCS has those 12 years i doubt hes much better than the D-line coaches at other big time schools (Fla, Bama, Texas etc.) But hey i guess him and the Weber State Coach know something they dont.

You keep saying Weber State. I understand, but he had other schools that were interested in him but they haven't offered yet. I just choose the wait and see approach. If it doesn't work out down the road, then I will join the rest who complain now. Just trying to give'm a chance thats all. Not trying to be a smart butt, just trying to have fun and keep things a little lighter around here. To much tension.

Maybe we're looking to start a pipeline to Honolulu. Aren't we looking at another kid from St. Louis school, Paulay Asiata, 4star OL? maybe they've got some big time guys coming the next few years. I'm trying to look at a bigger picture. Or maybe this kid's a sleeper. Who knows.

I couldn't care less about the number of stars. However, his offer list is a bit concerning. Hopefully this kid has had very little exposure.

I hope his 5.2- 40 time is no longer correct. I just don't understand taking a project player on this early

Your damn right we're gonna come out cause this is getting ridiculous if his commitment is accepted by the staff. I don't get hung up on having a class made of nothing but 4*-5* but I do get hung up on fans who see the world in orange because their glasses deflect everything else.

The age old argument on here has been..."I trust Dooley and Co. to evaluate talent better than message board posters blah blah blah." I agree 100% with that reasoning, and accept the fact that this staff can probably evaluate talent better than myself. Unfortunately for them they're not playing against my team, so whether or not they can evaluate talent better than myself, SGM, Montrell, or anyone else who speaks out is pointless. Dooley needs to be better evaluator of talent than Saban, Meyer, Richt, Chizik etc.

The second problem with taking this kid this early (if they indeed do) is the fact that we're gonna fill up in spots. Maybe the staff has an idea of where they stand with some bigger guys and its not a good stance that's why they're taking these commitments. With Gosha, Johnson, Newberry, Wright, Drew, Brown, Rasco, Chickillo (doubtful) still on the board and having interest it seems odd bringing Saulsberry and now Parker on board. I'll support Dooley and Co. and hope Parker develops into a All-SEC DE and if he does be the first to admit, "damn CCS and CDD knew what they were doing." But if things don't pan out and results aren't evident on the field in the next few years, we'll only have to look back and see the discrepancy in recruiting classes between us and our biggest rivals.

That's my hope and prayer.

"Please Lord let it be that these recruits are very under rated and our coaching staff are excellent at evaluating talent."

I would think so since Coach Chuck Smith called him and offered a scholarship.

You know the sad truth to this recruiting business is that MANY schools offer a guy and then the player commits but as things develop through weeks and months MANY guys get told that "they're no longer needed" or "things've changed" and they find themselves on the outside looking in. I'm not saying that Tennessee is one of those schools in fact my guess is that it happens less here than most but it happens so my point is... nothing is carved in granite on these "recruits" because that is all they are until NSD and after they sign then it's a different story. If a guy like Juda Parker turns out to be a flesheater then we'll all be thrilled but don't worry, if he ends up stinking up the place his senior year he'll never end up wearing a UT helmet.
