I'm just starting to catch up and talk to some folks that I haven't in awhile and there seems to be a prevailing opinion that Dallas is a silent.

Gordon actually is a good returner, he just needs to quit trying to win the game on every return. Yes I know lile, you will say he is trying to lose the game on every return, but fact is he is trying too hard

Gordon is good. And Vol_Ball is right. His biggest weakness is that he almost tries too hard and "pushes the envelope" if you will. He has the ability, just made a couple of freshmen mistakes, but wait, isn't he a true freshmen? You do make a point though. I really like Dallas' acceleration. The kid, if he plays in the slot position, will definitely be great with yards after catch.

I love Dallas' speed, were adding 2 very good return men in this class with Dallas & Young. KOR & PR might actually start becoming a strong point for the Vols. :crossfingers:

Wouldn't that be a breath of fresh air. Our special teams have never been good.

our special teams were solid throughout the 80s and early 90s.

Prior, Gen Neyland was one of the first coaches to make it special teams a central tenet to his game plans.

Sorry but i'm not old enough to have watch any of General Neylands teams. My bad!

I'm not either, but that's our history. 80s special teams were incredible. The fact that they've fallen off of late due to our staff ignoring them doesn't mean that we have always been mediocre.
