11' GA TE Jay Rome

Just imagine Hunter, Dafreak, Arnett, and Dallas at WR with Rome at TE. Could that offense be stopped?

He's thinking "I can be a Dawg, sit on the bench two years, & then play without catching any TD passes."

Heck, the Dawgs didn't even score a TD today.

Not only that, but Richt did not do anything to take the heat off himself today -- it was probably turned up a notch or two.

When Rome compares how we use our TE vs just about anybody else he has even looked at, he has to have at least a small light bulb go off in his mind. All his coaches here have experience coaching TE's in both college and in the pro's, and Dooley has been upfront about how much he likes to use his TE's since the day he got here.

Of course, he could go with Georgia and sit behind all-world Orsen Charles for a few years, doing mop up duty and wondering when he will be getting a new Head Coach.

Naaaah...

Rome texted a few coaches after the game last night. sounds like he was hyped over the td catch Luke made in overtime.

if he visits the chances are good. same with dawson, if he doesnt pull the trigger before he visits here i really like our chances with him as well.

I called this about a month ago. I think we sign Rome. Also I'm thinking we get Dawson. Players want to play for Dooley. Tennessee football looked good last night. It wasn't the debacle against Va.Tech the year before. Our team has exciting players on offense everywhere but RB.

Yeah the OT loss doesn't hurt as much as a blow out in terms of program direction. If anything, UT didn't hurt their chances during the bowl. I think most people will still realize that UT is a program on the rise with good coaches and great facilities.

We were just one good kicker away from winning it so I agree.

Excuse the double negative, but Rome isn't high on the Vols for nothing.

Two programs headed in completely different directions. There's good cause for positive feelings about him.

Tough to cover
1:29 pm ET -- Team White tight ends Jay Rome and Ben Koyack, a Fighting Irish pledge, both have really good hands, have caught onto the offense quickly and are being used in the passing game. Both are tough matchups for linebackers with their size and athleticism.

This is true. Especially about the RB position. Can't believe how that position has changed over the course of 12 months. I would still love to have Brown back there. At least he was dynamic.

I am hoping UT has a gem in smith and can maybe land another.

Talent-wise, that Virginia Tech team looked like the New England Patriots compared to this UNC team. If we went back to Atlanta and played FSU, we would have been plastered.
