11' GA TE Jay Rome

Well, hypothetically, we have a ton of ground to make up for Fulse. And for our efforts we will win the chance to sign and place him.

Fulse is a longshot to Tennessee as well. He's also a big academic question mark.

Rome would obviously be an enormous coup but it's not going to happen. He's going to Georgia.

Clear is obvious an enormous priority and I dont see him playing on the offensive line at all in college. I say if not TE then somewhere on the Dline. I've seen mentioned before that the common belief among the HS coaches in Memphis is that Clear does not quite have the frame to eventually play offensive line in college. Plus Dooley obviously wants a bigger, more physical run blocking TE as well in this class. He fits that need perfectly.

I would caution not to believe much of this until it is known which coaches in Memphis believe this. I know two pretty highly respected ones that have said they believe he is a future OL based on their observations (both with college coaching on their resumes) and in talking to some recruiters when in town. This kid has yet to really be into any kind of solid weight program yet.

That said, unless TN can pull off a Rome or such (I dont suspect they will), I see clear starting off at TE. Crazy to think that the kid is already the size and weight of Jason Witten (obviously Witten is much stronger at this stage). He is about 2 inches taller, but he reminds me of the type of TE that Fulmer wanted David Martin to be, but Martin could never put on the weight until the NFL cash got waived in front of him.

.

Agreed. Haven't heard anyone really be stern with a comment about him being on the DL in future. As far as the Memphis coaches, I feel like that was just made up lol.

Hey...wish i could explain it. These kids want early playing time...CMR's just too nice to take away playing time from a senior to let these guys play...starting to think Richt's been left way behind in the coaching ranks. :banghead2:

But Orson Charles will just be a sophomore, right?

Charles will be a junior, but will be a much bigger part of the offense along with Aron White (senior). Then we'll have Arthur Lynch coming back off a redshirt and Bruce Figgins coming back too. I don't understand, seems like he'd have to wait two seasons at the most for significant playing time, but for some reason I don't have a good feeling about this...you guys got a good one in coach Dooley. i'd be surprised if he signed with UGA on signing day

getting your hopes up over nothing

Malcolm Mitchell and Jay Rome are gonna play together somewhere

Mitchell's high school teammate Jay Rome is also considering his top two schools Alabama and Georgia and Mitchell says there is a good chance the two could end up playing together at the next level.

We have a decent shot at landing Rome. Tough pull, but far from impossible. I like our chances with him.

I hope he's watching Georgia get beat by central Florida high school!

If he watched the Music City Bowl and the Liberty Bowl, I'm putting my money that he wants Bray throwing the ball to him (and going loco) rather than Murray.

I really hope he saw how we utilized our TEs last night. On another note Central Florida might just be the best team in the state of Florida right now.
