Tennessee is somewhat of a surprise, but no one should count out Derek Dooley and the Vols with Rome or any other recruits from the Peach State. Just remember what happened last season and how Dooley convinced then Georgia-commit Da'Rick Rogers, who was No. 30 in the 2010 ESPNU 150, to sign with the Vols.

"I have to say that the Vols have come on really strong," Rome said. "They play their young players if they are talented and ready. Tennessee uses Luke Stocker and tight end is a big part of their offense. Just like Georgia."

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but I thought this was interesting that we are still very much in the hunt with him. I don't follow recruiting much, and I'm sure alot of you know more about who we are after and who likes us, but I think Rome would be a huge get for Dooley regardless.

Jmoore, Ootelwahvol has stated that Richardson and Clear are vols. If we land Jay Rome which in my opinion is still going to be a tough pull, does Clear look else where? Considering Rome is one of the top tight ends, do you think Clear will be bothered by that or do we take two tight ends?

Getting a visit at this time from Rome would be huge -- but if he brings his family with him, it would be a very, very good sign for us.
