Do you remember what rule # that was I would like to see it. Sorry just curious, but heck I guess it should be illegal for them to talk back and forth on facebook to. What is the world coming to.:dance2:

Here you go, taken directly from the 2010 NCAA Manual:

13.1.3.5 Nonpermissible Callers.
13.1.3.5.1 Representatives of Athletics Interests. Representatives of an institution’s athletics interests
(as defined in Bylaw 13.02.13) are prohibited from making telephonic communications with a prospective
student-athlete or the prospective student-athlete’s relatives or legal guardians.
13.1.3.5.1.1 Prospective Student-Athlete Initiates Call. An athletics representative of a member
institution may speak to a prospective student-athlete via the telephone only if the prospective
student-athlete initiates the telephone conversation and the call is not for recruiting purposes. Under
such circumstances, the representative must refer questions about the institution’s athletics program to
the athletics department staff.
13.1.3.5.2 Enrolled Student-Athletes. Enrolled student-athletes or other enrolled students shall not
make or participate in telephone calls to prospective student-athletes at the direction of a coaching staff
member or financed by the institution or a representative of its athletics interests; however, they may receive
telephone calls at the expense of the prospective student-athlete on or after July 1 following the completion
of the prospective student-athlete’s junior year in high school. An enrolled student-athlete may receive
telephone calls made at the expense of a prospective student-athlete prior to July 1 following the completion
of the prospective student-athlete’s junior year in high school, provided there is no direct or indirect involvement
by athletics department staff.

Thank you because the bold part cleary states unless the current athlete is doing it by direction of the staff than no rule is broken. I did not see that in the quote from Crowell. No I know some yahoo will say because it is Bama of course the coaches told him to. Sorry these kids do make friends and talk all the time. If the NCAA starts policing that they might as well tell them not to date or go home on break. This is just like last year when a Grad Asistant from UT traveled back to his old HS and talked to his friends there and everybody yelled fire because of it. Some fans crack me up with all the conspiracy theories.

I dont care how good you can recruit when you cant coach the talent that you get. I have seen 5 star players be just as good their senior year of college as they were their senior year of high school example: Brandon Warren.

We're pretty much out of the picture with Crowell.

He's down to UGA, Bama, FSU, and Clemson. Probably in that order.

Bryant talked to his mom 3 or 4 days ago and she said the Vols are definitely not out of it and that he is taking an unofficial here.

Dammit...this kid is legit. Crowell would MORE than make up for the loss of Brown

Crowell's legit alright. But I think Poole will more than make up for Brown. I think Poole will be better than Brown would have ever been and should've been playing instead of Brown. I watched just about every UT game and I was never impressed by Brown. Hardesty? Heck yeah! He was a beast! But Brown was way over-rated and overhyped, IMO. I think Kiffin promised Brown PT and gave it to him at Poole's expense for the sake of making a splash by signing the #1 rated recruit and to show that top recruits would get to play as freshmen. I think UT will be fine at the running back position this season with Poole & Oku. Sorry if I'm too off topic.

I think Crowell is the best RB in this class.

Brown is going to be a monster at whichever school he goes too.

I might be wrong about Bryce Brown, but I just didn't see what all of the fuss was about.

I agree with you about Crowell. This is a deep RB class though -- quite a few really good ones. Brown, Huggins, Green, Blakely, Bellamy ... just to name a few; there are certainly others I didn't mention; and some good sleepers out there too.

Brown was hurt all last year and still averaged 4.6 ypc to Hardesty's 4.8. Just sayin.

I think Crowell and Malcolm are on another level from everyone else. Close between those 2.

What saved Brown's YPC were the WKU and So. Car games. That's neither here nor there though. Crowell...let's get him

He also had a higher ypc than Hardesty against Auburn, Bama, and Ole Miss fwiw and it ain't like WKU didn't help hardesty's average either since he averaged 8.9 ypc against them. Brown did have that one allsome run against USCjr though.

still can't figure out why people hate on him. i dunno what everyone was expecting.

Yeah, I guess I forgot about Brown being hampered some by injury. I still think y'all will be fine with Poole as the main go to RB.

I agree about Crowel and Brown.

Who's hating in this thread? OH btw, he had 3 carries against Aub. I'm saying let us see more carries and equal that YPC before we can really assume anything. hardesty had just as big of an injury, knee injuries aren't exactly conducive to running and being tackled

Poole is better right now than Brown. Brown will eventually be better than Poole but not if he wastes his talent or cant shake injury.
