couldn't agree more. A rotation including even two above the above mention players would go a long way in improving our defensive for the next four years.

Its going to take 3 straight years of finding 2 solid DTs and 2 solid DEs each to get us back to a strong front that can stop the run and rush the passer.

We have two good DEs in J.Smith and C.Miller from last years class, but we have to find something good at DT this year to go along with M. Hughes.

Consistency in recruiting is so very important for sure. DTs are needed in a big bad way.

I was noticing last night during the sec games how weak our dtackles are compared to other sec teams..even miss state had two good looking tackles. Somewhat depressing.

Redden, have we even offered?

No, we'll see what happens though. He could be a Montori Hughes last-minute type thing on NSD if we don't offer before then. If we miss out on a few DTs we may not have a choice but offer eventually.

Gabe Wright would be the biggest pull to me because he's so hard to read and has basically had so many different "favorites" that there's no telling until the ink is dry on NSD.

Mickey would also be a huge pull for Dooley out of Louisiana. He's one of the strongest DTs in the class, sorta like a Jacques McClendon-type guy.

IMO, Clear could do well at TE, OT, DT, and DE.

If true, this just signifies that it's an AU-UT battle.

AU probably gets him because his mom loves it there.

That is true, and we have to make up some ground against Auburn -- probably more so with momma than with Gabe, who is very high on working with Coach Chuck Smith.

The keys will be getting him here with momma for his official visit, and then the all-important in-home visit when Coach Dooley and hopefully Coach Chuck Smith "come a calling" on Gabe and his momma.

I think Dooley and Smith can easily win that battle.

Playing time

Not just playing time, but the ability to start early. That should be a huge draw for any kid. Couple that with the chance to learn from Coach Chuck Smith, whom Gabe is already high on and has a good relationship with, and it should be a no brainer for him.

Unfortunately, we still have to win over momma, but that is not insurmountable.

How the hell could you possibly know this? After watching yesterday's game was the first thing you thought to yourself, "High character diamonds in the rough are what we need more than anything right now."? As far as prospects like Posey and Smith being elite, your definition is much, much looser than mine.

VW, you seem a bit negative lately bro. Can I pour you a cup of

Chizik was a horrible hire. He'll never win anything of significance at AU. He lucked out in getting Rocker, Trooper, and Malzahn. Once they're gone, I have no idea what he'll do. Ted Roof is nowhere near an SEC caliber D-Coordinator and Chizik insists on keeping him on staff. If he ever wins any kind of championship there I'll stop posting here. I'm not too worried though.

Gus Malzahn is the head coach at Auburn. Everyone knows that.

Gabe would have an opportunity for early playing time next year, as would any DT commit. However, if UT only takes two more DTs in this class, I hope one is a good JC that can make an immediate impact.

Having an opportunity to see the field is a nice thing to offer. But, UT really needs to get a quick ROI.

I didn't know if this was already posted, but when does Wright come in for an official visit? Would his mom come on that visit?

yep i dont know how anyone would commit after the UAB game, i dont care how much PT is guaranteed, i would have puked watching that game.
