'11 GA DE Silverberry Mouhon

Makes sense.

But to say he'd take us from a 6 win team to a 8-9 win team is crazy.

yeah only finding a QB will do that for us - which we may well do this spring - who knows

but finding an experienced DL that has some ability to get to the passer will certainly help this defense

him, vereen, CM, lambert coming at the QB sounds pretty good to me

Imagine if we were able to add Coker at QB? I say start cutting Dooleys slackers that are around.

Maybe. But one could also look at it that we were the length of Pigs fingertip plus 3 inches against Vandy from being 7-5 instead of 5-7.

Yeah no doubt. But that's how football is in general. You've heard our coach say it all year "inches make the difference". It's a game of inches & more times than not, in every football game there are a few plays where an inch here, or an inch there, determines the outcome of the game.

I just think it's a little much to say this guy would be the difference in 2-3 wins.

Is this a rumor from so-called "sources" or is this a rumor based on someone's theory that it would make sense for Mouhon to transfer?

I don't want to get my hopes up here. But holy toledo this would be awesome.

Supposedly Matthews said on the radio there was a transfer coming and it was not Coker and that it would be a major pickup. Then it was discovered his father was in bad health. So some rumors and speculation both...

I'd say S Mouhon would be considered a major pickup. Big plus that he knows this staff and system. I'd think he could make the transition about as seamless as any transfer I can recall. His familiarity with the staff and defense would also be a big help for all the new guys coming in in the front 7. With AJJ (hopefully) being our only returning starter in the front 7, we could really use another guy that the new guys can look to for help learning the D and leadership, S Mouhon would be an excellent addition. Hope it happens. Hope his father is doing well regardless.

If he indeed does transfer to UT without having to sit a year, couldn't he enroll and join the team by this upcoming semester in Jan?

This answers my question as well. Thanks.

When does classes at UT start? I'm sure he'd want to play in the Belk Bowl to finish this season out and that's on December 28th. Would he have enough time to get the paper work and things needed in time?

A lot of the recruits are counting down to Jan. 5th...idk if that is the day they start or orientation...

The only reason I said up to 10, because a 3rd down sack most of the time takes away points. Pressure will mess up the QB more, and Silverberry would be our best instantly. If we cause more bad throws, there will be less passes caught. If passes don't get caught, the ball doesn't move. Good pressure can prevent bad plays by busted coverage also.

What if we got two Silverberries? Then we could be up to 13 wins! And....maybe we could get a third to play OLB...then we could win 16 games! 07 Patriots, watch out!

You'd be surprised how much difference one or two players can make.

So you think I'm right? We could win 16 games with three Silverberries? At least 13 wins with two though, right? We are so close to a national championship that I can taste it!

Depends where these silverberries are placed. If we had similarly caliber players at 3 positions, we could be in the money. If we had two guys who could tear it up on D, and a QB we could be a lot closer to a title.

I sure hope Butch can pull this off. We could easily have the depth to send in a fresh set of D-linemen every drive which would give other teams fits. Veeren and S. Mouhon creating havoc off the edges would be great.

So the Vandy score would have been 10-4 with Tennessee winning. I'm with you.

Maybe he seals the edge when Robinette walked around right end and into the EZ. I have nightmares on what could have been if one guy had stayed in position. :banghead2:

Silverberry and Kevin's dad had a stroke many weeks ago. He is still in the hospital the last that I heard. That is where these rumors are coming from most likely about transferring. I can only imagine what those guys are going through trying to play football while their dad is in the hospital, especially one of them being all the way in Cincinatti. The family still needs a lot of prayers from Volnation, so show them plenty of respect and love!
