'11 GA DE Ray Drew

Drew has now taken official visits to Auburn, LSU and Georgia, so he has two left. Clemson, Florida and Tennessee are among the many schools fighting over those two spots. He said he may take them or may not. He’ll play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 8 in San Antonio.

“I haven’t really been able to think about it lately,” Drew said of recruiting. “I’m exhausted right now.”

dropped UF today. Was a LONGGGGGGg shot at best.....Aubbie or Dawg on NSD.

HG...

I think Drew will disqualify Auburn from his final list because of the Cam Newton "pay for play" scandal. That alone makes Auburn unattractive for a lot of recruits, and especially so for Drew.

I see it as a UT/Ga battle, with UGA holding a slight lead. Tough pull, but I think we can do it. Richt's "hot seat" problem and the multitude of off field incidents will hurt Ga, as will the presence of Orson Charles.

I think we have a good chance to land him on NSD.

I don't think the recruits worry at all about the scandal unless they're being included in the scandal. A NC would overshadow the fiasco IMO

I think that you were thinking of Jay Rome when you were talking about the presence of Orson Charles as a reason that would hurt UGA.

"I haven't made a decision," Drew opened the conversation to TigerBait.com with. "I have seen internet message boards saying I have committed to four or five different schools over the last few months. People are just building up little things I say into big assumptions. I hear I am going to UGA or I am an Auburn lock, then other people said I committed to Mississippi State months ago. None of it is true. Right now I have five teams I like, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Clemson and Auburn."

Not trying to dodge -- I tried to answer a number of times late last night, but the site appeared to be locked up and I was unable to post anything. Every time I clicked, all I got was "server error".

I continue to hear that we are still in it for Drew -- from some folks that have been reliable in the past. Logic also argues for him to be looking closely at us for several reasons -- first is Coach Chuck Smith, and second is that Richt may not be there for much longer, third is that Coach Dooley (and Coach Wilcox) have said that their base defense will continue to be the 4/3, and fourth, the FCA has a strong presence on our team. I gave other reasons in an earlier post.

I admit that his most recent remarks do not look good for us, and of course it would not be the first time I have been wrong, but I have not given up hope yet.
