Per ESPN Insider. Just got home and read it. Maybe it's Germans but I thought it was a good read.
Things are settling down for five-star defensive end Ray Drew (Thomasville, Ga./Thomas County Central). Drew, the nation's No. 3 overall recruit and the top rated defensive end, was considering close to two dozen schools but has cut the list down to six.
"It's Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee," Drew said.
So far this fall Drew has made two official visits; one to LSU (Oct. 1) and one to Auburn (Nov. 12).
"LSU was really, really great. I was there for the Tennessee game and I have never seen an ending to a game like that," Drew said. "The people were great and the food is awesome in Baton Rouge. LSU is a great overall program. I mean they have everything.
"The Auburn game day experience was very exciting. The fans there are so passionate. I was there for the Georgia game. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting their season to turn out like his. But I have always been anxious to see what coach [Gene] Chizik could do once he had everything in place. I mean he was 13-0 twice as a coordinator at Auburn and Texas. You knew it was just a matter of time at Auburn."
Drew had previously scheduled an official visit to UCLA but that trip was canceled. Another surprise was the absence of Florida State.
"The Seminoles did not make the cut," he said.
Coaches can now make visits to the prospects. So far Florida and Clemson have been by to see Drew. LSU and Georgia will visit him today.
"I am ready for it to get here but at the same time I am cloudy with my decision," said Drew, who hopes to make a decision on national signing day. "I am definitely not ready to make it."
Drew finished the season with 54 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, and four sacks and his team went 8-3.
"Everyone ran away from me. We had a young defensive end on the other side and teams tested him. Then he got hurt and we put a freshman in to replace him and he really
