'11 GA DB Geraldo Orta

This sounds like what a lot of people were saying last year about Sapp, Crump and Probst. They may not be allSEC (yet) but they sure didn't look like wasted scholarship bad players to me.

I'll buy that for a dollar. One thing that encourages me is the fact that Dooley & staff seem to be able to evaluate pretty well. My post was from MY view point. That don't count for much I know!

Sapp has already proven he is a special teams tackler. I liked his size potential to possibly move to OLB on day. Propst was a high school tackling machine and a 4 star on Scout. He looks like he will be a tackling hero for the Vols too. Can he cover the pass? Crumps h. s. film looked good, and he did good work on special teams this year.

Martaze Jackson was another guy everyone wondered about. He redshirted this year. Rumored to have posted a 4.5 40 in s & c tests in January. We will see how these guys continue to develop, but early returns look pretty good!

I hope Orta works out. I just don't see the evidence for much now. Now, he is rated a 4 star on ESPN, but IMO there rankings suck bad. They rated Todd Campbell as a highly rated WR a while back. They didn't even bother to rate Cam Clear this time. What a joke!

5 "stars" tank. 3 "stars" tank. Nobodys knows what will happen with most of these kids until they are here and in the program for awhile. Don't see any reason to dismiss a kid's potential, any kid that the coaches thought enough of to give a scholarship. Somebody on the staff thinks that all of these players can contribute.

Correct.

He is going to grayshirt. I think he's known about it being a real possibility for a while.

- Hubbs. Orta just got out of surgery according to his twitter. That started a debate on VQ and Hubbs had the statement above.

Yep. Add Bullard in to that and we're down two. This is going to be a numbers game and that is why the staff is being selective.

So with Orta essentially coming into play next semester, this may explain why the staff has been selctive with the likes of Redmond.

So very true...that was why last years class needing to be basically all hits and not miss is SO HUGE for our program.

In 2013 the bulk of our roster will be this last class.

We are going to be so selective with our class this year.

Going to be very fun to watch it play out, and watch all the panic that ensues over the next 6 months.

Like I tried to tell everyone before.......this young man is the most questionable recruit in this class! I hope he turns out great, but I never could understand why we took him.

Now with TWO shoulder surgeries behind him, he is damaged goods. I hope Dooley does not run him off, because we DID offer a scholly to him. If your not the best at your position on your high school team, your probably not gonna do much on the SEC level! :ermm:
