The staff always seemed to really like Orta. I'm guessing if they are still on him hard then they will take him.

(No homo)

If we had more scholarships, I would agree. The reality is that we are getting low on 'ships and will have to cull our list.

If we miss out on two of King, Countess and Johnson, then Orta might be back into play. If we get two of the three, I think Orta is out. I believe there is a high probability we will land two of the three.

It looks to me that Orta and K Marcus are about even on our board -- between those two, I would go with K Marcus, but the staff may well not agree with me. I would also certainly take Avery Walls before Orta if we could land him.

Just based on their videos I would probably go Orta, then Marcus, then Walls. Walls appears to slipping with everyone which is why USCe is the only SEC school still in is favorites.

Marcus looks like a future LB to me anyway.

I also think Loften might end up at LB in the future.

Marcus is too small for LB -- the staff has said that they want to move away from the smaller LB's to larger ones. Marcus is 6' 185, and that appears to be well short of the size Dooley and Wilcox want. The good news about Marcus is that he can play both S and CB.

Loften is shorter than Marcus -- only 5'10", so I would think he will stay at safety also.

I have no idea what is going on with Walls -- it appears to be more than the "stiff hips" that GT109 mentions, and it seems that the whole SEC is backing away from him. Curious about that one.

DB Geraldo Orta (6-0 180) of Valdosta, GA says that Tennessee now leads for his services. He has Clemson, USC, Louisville, and Wake Forest in his top five but all trail the Volunteers. "I just like the attention to detail from their coaches," said Orta
- Tennessee leads for Orta

Will visit USCe & Tennessee in December then Clemson Jan 14th

J Moore do you get the feeling that maybe this guy is the last safety taken?

It's between him or Kadetrix Marcus, which ever one commits first gets the spot IMO. The staff likes Marcus a little more than Orta though.

We have Randolph, Martin, and Loften. Don't see us taking another safety, unless he can play corner.

I don't care what his 40 time is listed as...I just watched his film and there is no way he's that slow...

Maybe it was a bad day or something when he timed...this kid plays way faster than 4.83

OK. Hopefully he's 4.5 or better.

Orta is a player. I have watched him for 2 years now. have season tickets to Lowndes games. He is much faster than 4.83 or whatever it says. Ball hawk and good tackling skills, something we don't have right now. Not a hit stick tackler actually uses his arms and raps up. Hope he come to Ktown. I wear my UT shirts to their games every weekend yell his name and lift the shirt to him. Come on Orta come to Knoxville

JMoore do u think we take Orta no matter what or is he like a back up plan in case Loften doesn't qualify?

I think he is a backup plan for Loften & Kadetrix Marcus. Were in Marcus' final 2 with South Carolina, the staff has Marcus' rated above Orta on their board.
