Has offers from us and Clemson and hearing a lot from Auburn and UNC as well, who are both close to offering. Another kid from Lowndes, would be nice to get a mini-pipeline into Lowndes and Valdosta High. Those two programs play some of the best competition in GA and north FL. He says its Clemson, AU, UT and UNC in that order at the moment. Has also visited UF and UGA unofficially.

Doesn't look like the same school as TE prospect Jay Rome, but the same city. Rome also is a Clemson lean at this point

Is it just me or does just about every recruit we are in it for is also favored by Clemson. Seems like we have the exact same offer list.

It's funny that he favors Auburn over UT while Auburn still hasn't offered him, according to Scout.

"Right now it's Clemson one, Auburn two, Tennessee three and North Carolina four," Orta listed in order. "I'm not looking to make my decision until my dad gets out so he can help me with it. I definitely want to go to the SEC or the ACC because I want that challenge and I want to fight for my position.

valdosta’s geraldo orta reportedly de-committed from clemson this week. The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back from lowdnes high committed to the tigers on june 5th. He he told palmettosports.com he decided to back out so he can check out south carolina, tennessee, maryland and louisville with a clean conscience. he likely won’t make up his mind this time until he has take official visits this fall.

"I don't have any planned, but I want to go up to Tennessee when I can," he said.
"Hopefully, it will be this month."

"You already know I have Clemson first," he said. "I have Tennessee second. Then I have Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Wake Forest."

Tennessee: "They were my first offer. They have always been my favorite school. My daddy always wanted me to go to Tennessee."

He has Clemson first....

But...

We're the first to offer?...

We're his favorite school???...

His daddy wants him to go there???.....

I don't get it.

Maybe he is hesitant to commit to a school that has so many unkowns at this point. That's all I can make of it.

Four-star safety Geraldo Orta (Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes) has been busy making his fall and winter travel plans, according to the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.

Orta will take official visits to South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Maryland and "probably" Clemson. He was temporarily committed to the Tigers in earlier this summer.

Orta registered 73 tackles and six interceptions during his junior campaign.

I know nothing about the kid but it seems to me like a 4* safty would have a better offer sheet than what is listed.

The kid's highlights are pretty impressive. He has great size for a safety and has the frame to be solid size safety in college. He's a ball hawk and I'm loving that. He can lay the wood as well but his int's really impressed me. B/c of his instincts with the ball in the air and with his current size and frame he could continue to work on his tackling and really become a good all around safety at the next level.

Guys i live down here in Lowndes county and go to all the games. Orta is someone we want to have on our team. Kid is a player and plays faster than his 40 time. Does anyone know if we are recruitting his team mate Troy Braswell?? Them two along with Tyler Hunter are the cream of the crop for Lowndes. Valdosta Malcom Mitchell went off Friday night. Orta set out with a minor injury

Orta says he'll take official visits at the conclusion of his season, with Clemson, Tennessee and South Carolina on the docket for sure.

He lists his top five - in order - as Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Louisville and Wake Forest.

"Tennessee's coaches think I can be the next Janzen Jackson for them," he said.
