This coming fall there will be a new player added to the mix in talented 2011 class in South Florida. Moving from Georgia this summer, St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Rashad Greene looks primed to become one of the top pass catchers for his class in Florida.

This is 6-foot, 165-pounders first time living in South Florida, but he has some local ties as his father attended Dillard High School. All reports indicate the transition as been fairly smooth for Greene.

“Everything has been going good,” said Greene. “Practice has been a lot of work, but I like it. I’m learning from the best and that’s exciting to be coached by a former NFL player. It’s all fun when I’m on the field.”

The coach that has Greene excited is long time Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Chris Carter. Greene discussed what he likes about Carter the coach.

“He definitely knows what he’s talking about, he pushes me a lot and that’s what I like about him. He pushes me so I can be up to the best of my abilities and that’s what I like, someone pushing me.”

Along side of Dorsett next year will be receiver Rashard Green. The 2011 prospect transferred in from Georgia this season and lived up to the pre-season hype. Most around Saint Thomas felt that Green would be one of the best receivers to have come through their program. Considering some of the great players which played that position that is saying something. He brings nice size to the receiver position. Green runs very good routes and should be Saint Thomas go-to receiver next season.

Any news on this kid? He has a sick 40 time. We need to establish a pipe line at St.Thomas Aquinas.

Is he not going to camp with us? We need play makers! This kid has top flight speed. We need to put Baggett on him. With his coach being Chris Carter, it could help us out.

Heavy FSU lean here, would take a tough pull to sway him. Bobby Hart as well. (both from Aquinas)

I say FSU as well. But you never know with Chris Carter always trying to get his hands involved with Aquinas players and push them to OSU for his own selfish reasons.

Tallahassee, FL.- Noles snag another one for the class of 2011. Big time playmaker Rashad Greene of St. Thomas Aquinas has committed to Jimbo Fisher and staff this afternoon.

"Yes I committed to Florida State. I'm excited, very excited. It wasn't my plan to commit on my visit, it just kind of happened. I told coach Gran, Fisher, and some of the others and they were just so excited. The coaches all jumped up and they were pretty fired up. Coach Fisher told me it was like he was getting three players in one with me. I can play slot or outside, I have great quickness but also great top speed. He just said he can line me up all over and it really helps."

Rashad was on his way home to Fort Lauderdale already, and had only two plans in mind.

"I'm only working on getting a ring this season. I'm not taking any other visits this summer or officials. I'll visit FSU but that's probably it. Now I'm going to work on getting other players on board like Bobby Hart and some other guys."

Florida State was thought to be the rumored leader for a while, however he finally made it official today.

"I picked Florida State because it just felt right, I was always excited to go there and that's why I picked them."

Rashad mentioned he will not likely graduate early. He also mentioned once again his commitment to Florida State was firm.
