He has been a long time Clemson commit and the Tigers coaches told him that if he didn't show up for his official visit this weekend to Clemson and took a visit elsewhere, that his scholarship would be pulled. That's exactly what happened and it doesn't make Lane happy whatsoever.

"I am very disappointed at how this turned out," Lane said. "I trusted [coach Dabo Swinney] and I thought he trusted me. He knew when I committed that I wanted to see some other places and take some trips. I guess he feels like he can't trust me. I love Clemson and have a Clemson tattoo. I guess it's time to move on."

So Toney Williams(transfer still possible)
Fr Tom Smith
Fr Devrin Young

I hope we get Martin Lane but who knows. We will go after 2 studs next year!

We can't afford a we could get someone, but who knows, maybe we will get 2 studs next year hogwash. We need major help THIS year in addition to Smith.

I would put Lane's list right now as follows
1a. Miami
1b. Tennessee
2. Auburn
3. FSU

Hopefully we can impress this weekend and become the clear leader.

Well he is from FL and has visited Miami recently. I have read on TOS that he likes Miami and TN because of their offensive schemes. The Miami visit is what started the big rift between him and Clemson.

So he has seen Miami and hasn't TN so I would put them slightly ahead of us.

Auburn is looking for a 2nd running back and I haven't heard him talk much about him but they will be a factor once they start working on him.

He is visiting FSU but they have Wilder commmited.

I believe we are getting some help from current commit Pat Martin on this one. Marlin and Pat seem to know each other.

If fsu takes him, no way wilder stays... fsu shouldnt take him even if they could... they're rb class is already sick.

In all seriousness, I hope Wilder stays with FSU and we pick up Lane. If they were to take Lane and Wilder opens up his recruitment, chances are good that he'd end up at another SEC school, which we don't want. Best case scenario, we get one and the other stays in the ACC.

What is really encouraging is not just that he decommited from Clemson but that the Tigers are no longer recruiting him. It's one thing to decommit, look around, and potentially go back. Now, Clemson is out of the picture completely. A little concerned about the "off the field" criminal issue that ESPN also cites.
