11 FL OL Marcus Jackson (UT commit)

Jackson was recruited to play guard here and the staff, specifically Hiestand, feels that he could be an elite one at that. There's nothing to indicate he would move to DT....obviously it could happen but I think the chances are very slim. I think they shot for 5 OL in this class and that's what they'll have once Tiny goes public.

I've always thought Clear would make a great DL....bulk him up to about 280 and he could be a force inside or out. I know they've spoke to him about possibly playing both ways...should be interesting to see how he turns out once he gets to Knoxville.

Clear may end up an OT or a DL, BUT, the staff is at least giving him a shot at TE, and they are promising him that he will play TE. If they didn't, we wouldn't get him. He wants to play TE.

Yes, I know. I'm just assuming the inevitable happens & he puts on 20-30 pounds.

If he wants to stay at TE he better dedicate himself to a brutal cardio routine once he gets on campus.

Don't be surprised if he gets a bump in his ratings. He really impressed some people during practice and the game. Of course that info isn't a given but quite possible.

He was dominate as a guard in the game. He has the ability to get some valuable minutes as a Freshman.

I must have been watching a different Jackson than everyone else. He looked ok but nothing stood out to me other than he let that 500lb DT make him whiff a couple times lol(missed assignments mostly so chill before someone tries to roast me on that). He didnt even start for the red team so I am not sure he stood out enough to get a bump.

That seems pretty accurate to me.

(And don't kill me either. I'm thrilled to have Marcus, but I just don't know if that was enough to bump his rating)

I wouldn't worry about it. Stone looked pretty bad at one of the All Star games last year and he turned out pretty well.

Jackson is a perfect example of what a joke rivals can be sometimes. Trip Thurmans a 4 star and Jacksons a 3, watch there videos and explain in what area is Thurman better??? Jackson has better feet, quicker off the ball, more powerful and playing better competition. Jacksons the better player and deserving a 4th star end of story.

Dated 12/9/10 Told you!

You know that most people on here felt very good about our chances back in mid-November after his visit on the weekend of Nov 13-14, right? So you weren't exactly going out on a limb to make that prediction in December.
