We will not know anything about the future of the program until after this date . Everyone that says Gruden is hired needs to Slow down before we get disappointed . He would be a great hire but the season has to play out first .

I don't think it comes close to happening. But finishing at 9-4 would make my life great. Coming on here and seeing all the opinions would be gold.

(1) Randy Shannon will be our next Defensive Co ordinator. Remember that?????

(2) We need to let this season play out and possibly go to a bowl game. If it is announced that Dooley is fired on Monday, then the team will lose any of their remaining motivation to win.

(3) If we announce on Monday, then we likely with have Dooley as a dead man walking until after the bowl season. The next coach will likely not come to U.T. until after he coachs in his teams bowl game. There are two exceptions to the rule though GRUDEN & PETRINO.

Most likely Dooley's next loss will be his last game

Especially if the loss were to be to Vandy, KY or Troy. And then again, Hart may, counter to many opinions, keep Dooley another year. Hart has not made any made any public announcements regarding any sort of change... at least, not yet (to my knowledge).

What are the chances that if we win out Dooley is still gone?

I think that it is highly probable that he would stay (and get an extension!). IF ... IF ... there have been behind the scenes conversation with one particular individual that indicates a willingness to make a career change, the odds change dramatically against Dooley staying.

No sources, pure opinion.

I see this alot on here and it always seems such a strange point to make. What AD announces that he is going to fire a coach, before he actually fires a coach? I mean, what AD has ever said, "Well, I'm probably going to fire the coach if we lose another game, so let's just see what happens..."?

petrino sucks first off, we need someone who can dominate bama/lsu/florida/uga.. not spend a lifetime behind them.

second.. even if he was a good coach there would not be a snowballs chance in hell we hired him here. most here in east TN still have morals.. even if most of the rest of the country does not any longer.

A significant portion of fans and donors have made their decision about Dooley and want a change. Winning out in November doesn't erase three years of losing to every top- and mid-tier SEC team and never beating a ranked opponent from any conference. Beating cupcakes isn't going to win you fans in the SEC. Maybe Hart will take this into account; maybe he won't. But fans and donors have ways of making their opinions known-- and it won't take until 11/25 for Hart to know exactly how they feel.

Nor has he come out with any sort of support for Dooley either. I think Dooley's done no matter what happens Saturday.
