Yes, we have got to figure out a rushing attack. Good timing for a week off and a scrimmage the following week.

It's not just bad it's really bad. Worst in the SEC and close to the bottom in the nation. Of course this is after just 3 games but it's not going to get easier rushing against more SEC teams. Hopefully this will be the #1, #2, and #3 priority during the off-week to discover a rushing attack to take some pressure off Bray.

I thought this would be Poole's year, given an improved and more experienced OL. Is the line that bad, or is Poole just not up to the job?

Pass blocking they are fine, when it comes to run blocking they just don't get any push at the point of attack.
We could have Jamal Lewis back and he would not help, if that tells you anything.

They have a few weeks to get it squared away. I hope we can see SOME progress.

It's a mix of both. Well lets just say it, the oline is bad at run blocking and Poole doesn't bring a whole lot of dynamic to the running game. Lane is a freshman. Kind of wish Williams hadn't transferred. I know it was just a spring game , but he ran with attitude. I think that's kind of what Tennessee needs in the backfield right now.

Poole can't shoulder the blame for our poor rushing numbers alone. A healthy portion of responsibility belongs to an Offensive Line that is just plain getting beat. These guys are young and inexperienced and have a long way to go to grow together as a unit. When that happens, lanes will open up and Poole with show his exceptional talent again for big gains.

It won't happen this year. He better hope when he walks on at a camp that he blows some people away. Or else, the O-line has him selling real estate.

Book 'em Dano..

When Tennessee Played The best we had speed on Defense. We are slow compared to Florida/Georgia/Lsu/SC . We need a running back that can make the tuff yards like we did in the 90's .Our rb's seem to always go down on first contact. Never like other great sec RB's who are hell to tackle. If you lack Talent you have gota be creative . we did nothing special against Florida . No reason to leave Stone at center when he was struggling that bad, sit him a play or 2 . Why would you worry if the coaches are gona keep letting you roll the ball back? I'm curious about Milton and Neal and why they can't seem to crack any meaningful playing time

The Vols are 44th in the nation in total offense and this makes them 6th in the SEC.

The Vols are 11th in the nation in passing and this makes them 2nd in the SEC.

The Vols are 31st in the nation in points scored averaging 36.7 per game. This is 5th in the SEC.

Bray has thrown for 986 yards this is 5th in the nation and 1st in the SEC. His 10 TD's are 3rd in the nation and 1st in the SEC. Bray's 167.1 passer rating is 14th in the nation and 1st in the SEC.

D. Rogers has 4 TD receptions which is 3rd in the nation and 1st in the SEC.

With only 1 reception for 12 yards before injury against UF Justin Hunter is still 16th in the nation in receiving yards and 1st in the SEC.

If you are curious to who is #2 in the SEC in receiving yardage is it's none other than D. Rogers with 262 yards.

Just more stats to ponder but we do need to run the ball more effectively.

P.S. Poole Loves Tennessee and is a class act Player. But maybe he's not the answer and there was a reason he didn't start over Brown.

We have a crappy, weak, offensive line that can't get any push against a defense.

At least they are somewhat decent at pass blocking.

Our weakness on both the OL and DL, is the continuing legacy of the recruiting failures of both Fulmer and Kiffin.

RBs (kick returners too) seem to be operating under the delusion of "patience". I see a lot of timid and hesitant running that is being labled by some as "patient". Forget patience....Poole and Lane need to get the ball, make a read and GO. Neither are the fastest cats in the world, but both are plenty fast to get the job done. Quit being TIMID and start being aggressive. Coaches need to call them on this.
