$100 A Barrel Oil is on the Way

if that's the case then I need to sell my XOM now. It will be high-priced toilet paper when he's done

well we certainly wouldn't want to develop a domestic oil supply. exploration just wouldnt' work. we need electric cars and windmills.

we need Super Friends. How much would energy needs be if we had invisible airplanes, flying people, guys that can run at the speed of light, magic rings and dude that can turn into water?

interesting. aquaman by himself could solve our energy problems. i think this certainly merits being added to obama's energy policy. yours has just a good a chance of working as his does.

If a revolt happens in Iran and that new guy wins, expect to see oil come down real fast and the floodgates will be opened for Haliburton, Schlumberger, Exxon and other big oil players to upgrade Irans oil fields, as they are under maintained

North Dakota could have a huge new oil field

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Dozens of fruitful wells beneath the rich Bakken shale in North Dakota continue to fuel a hunch among oilmen and geologists that another vast crude-bearing formation may be buried in the state's vast oil patch.
Lynn Helms, director of the state Department of Mineral Resources, said recent production results from 103 newly tapped wells in the Three Forks-Sanish formation show many that are "as good or better" than some in the Bakken, which lies two miles under the surface in western North Dakota and holds billions of barrels of oil.

"I think it's a big deal and we're pretty fired up about it," Helms said.
Companies have reported some Three Forks wells recovering more than 800 barrels daily, considered decent by Bakken standards.
Denver-based Whiting Petroleum Corp. has drilled two wells in the Three Forks formation, with one that recorded more than 1,000 barrels of oil a day, said John Kelso, a company spokesman.

This find is very real. Look up BEXP (ticker symbol). They have leases on this land and they just hit a monster well producing 2000 barrels per day yesterday. Its up 28% today on the news. The oil is in a formation sandwiched above another huge find. Very encouraging. Only problem is no pipelines to carry oil out so they have to truck it out at $6 a barrel

Other stocks that are in this area are CLR and KOG. I own them all btw. Full disclosure

too bad we can't drill for more of our own

Don't oil companies have current leases they can drill now?

I'm not a green nut, and I couldn't care less about offshore drilling or Alaska drilling. But if they have current leases and can drill their now, why don't they? Why make a stink out of other places they know will get the green nutjobs in a frenzy?

I thought this thread should be brought back up. Oil is around $87 per barrel and I just heard a report we could see $4 per gallon this summer. So I guess Barry is in bed with big oil. What is he going to do to fix the high gas prices? Gas has risen over $1 per gallon since he was elected.

What is the reason we can't drill our own again???

Much of the oil exploration (worldwide) dropped way off when the price fell below $60/barrel.

Geological reality is that there's not much cheap oil left to drill.

Get used to it.
