Cherry Hill (NJ) Camden Catholic

Ht: 6-foot-6
Wt: 197 lbs
Forty: 4.6 (Scout)
Vertical: 29 inches
Shuttle: 4.72 secs

He's a big target and is likely to receive a great deal of offers. He told Scout.com that he'd been hearing from our staff. The only footage I've found on him was a 1-on-1 showcase and he was having trouble beating jams off the line. If he can get stronger and bring up his grades, he could be an impact signee for this class. He currently reports a 2.1 GPA (per Scout).*

*Edit: he has told the Pitt Rivals site that he's brought up his grades significantly.

He won't be playing Wr here at Tennessee. He just does't have the speed or quickness. Might be a De prospect with that size hoping he can bulk up.

If that 4.72 shuttle is legit, no thanks. I like big targets on the outside more than most but a 4.72 shuttle is not going to cut it.

Rivals also has him w/ a 5+ second 40.

They've updated his profile to show a 4.7 forty.

Apparently because of conflicting times, each school's officials will be individually hand-timing him while he tours the camp circuit.

I don't expect him to put on much weight before he gets to college, but he could still be an impact player after a redshirt and a year in the weight room. He has a long way to go, but you can't find his size everyday.

You can improve speed and strength. You can coach someone to run better routes, but you can't make a 5'11 wideout 6'6. His performance on the camp circuit will determine how many offers he gets.

This could be a situation where too many schools see him as a project and decide to pass over him.

Tennessee is now evaluating his teammate, quarterback Joseph Brennan.

some quotes from a new article---

Rivals

Schools are saying that they want to offer but they want to see if my grades are going to continue to improve. My grades have been getting better but the colleges want to see it.

I think if we wait until the end of the school year when I get my grades, I'll get a lot of offers.

I'm hearing from Ohio State, Connecticut, Maryland, and Tennessee, and I get a lot of mail from Miami, too.

Are there really many DE's that are 6'6"? Seems like it would be next to impossible to get good leverage off the snap being that tall. Not calling you out or anything, I just didnt know how normal a DE that tall is......he seems like more of a TE prospect if he bulks up to me. One would have to worry about him getting even slower if he gets bigger, though.

Markeith Ambles looked like a stud in that Army video.

That's why CLT is on him like white on rice!!! Hopefully, we can get Ambles. But, this looks like we're trying to get a package deal with Casper and Brennan

During a Scout.com update from August, Casper claimed a 1500 on the SAT and a bench press of 255 lbs.

He also claims to have lowered his forty time and says the staffs at Tennessee, Miami and Ohio State are still sending him recruiting mail.

He hopes to take officials to Tennessee, Penn State and Ohio State.

I scored a 1500 on my SAT so I am good there because they told me I needed a 1,000. So I’m just practicing now and focusing on my grades. The days of me being lazy are over. I started kinda late, but I get it now.

Scout.com: Terrence Casper: Doing what it takes

I'm curious if the current staff would offer him a grayshirt with a chance to go to school part-time for 1-2 semesters while working on his strength and conditioning. He could earn a scholarship offer and if nothing else, he would at least be much better prepared to earn an offer at another school without exhausting any of his eligibility.

If he really bulked up a lot he would make a great TE.

He would really have to bulk up A LOT though...
