10 winningest programs

Everyone knows that Michigan has won more games than any team. We know that because ESPN loves to remind us. But, Michigan also played more seasons than any team (128 years). So, I took the top 10 winningest programs and showed you average wins per year (a more accurate measure of the winningest programs). Then, I multiplied the average by 128 years so that you can see how many games each team would have won had they played as many games as Michigan. Here goes:

eh, it's stats.......you can manipulate the number to mean what ever you want it to.

it just depends on how you want to look at it.

We fell to 10th place on all-time D1 winning percentage this year (69.42%). We were at #9 at this point last year. But 10th is still pretty good.

exactly. Vandy probably has a quant. jock somewhere putting them in the top 10.

it's likely to be 3 shortly and that makes them the best program of the past 15 years. That's some awfully strong sustained success.

winning % and total wins mean nothing to UT fans.....

Would you rather avg. 8-9 wins a year....or have two 14-0 yrs (NC) and three 3-9yrs???? I want the NC's. Avg does not mean anything. The Raiders are one of the teams in the NFL with the highest winning % in history.........so...they suck now!

BTW...nice stat!

No doubt that it's impressive. My only point is that the 2 previous NC's don't suddenly catapult UF into being the #1 program of all time like a lot of their fanbase claim.
And the title "King of College Sports" is even more ludicrous.

I'd also like to see them crack the top 10 in all-time wins or bowl victories before claiming that status.

Sorry...being a Nole's fan...I hate UF more than anyone, but what happened in the 40's-80's does not mean much today. UF is the team of the 90's-00's (w/ USC).

It's true. I hate to admit it. Can Galen Hall come back to Gainsville and coach???? I miss him.

Speaking the truth and calling things as you see it does not make anyone less of a fan. Good or bad, I want the truth and I try to speak the truth as I see it.

I would like to know your thoughts on the CLK hire but if another thread/conversation was started I'm afraid that our accounts would be in jeopardy... well, at least mine.
