I hate to see the word "troll" come up on message boards...I'm just giving you the info that I hear. There was nothing "published" about Garrett not liking his trip to Tennessee. Like I said, he's the type of kid that wants nothing but to play in the toughest conference, the loudest stadiums, and in front of 109,000 of you crazy Southerners.
Clark County (where Heritage is) has about half a million people in it. Our kids battle on the football field, but are actually pretty close off of it. Compared to the rest of the state, we are pretty remote, so when a team from our area competes in the state playoffs (regardless of rivalry), we are there to support them. When a player from our area gets selected to all-state teams/games/etc, we are there to support them. Coaches get along well, too. It's that closeness that makes us so competitive against each other. We'll do whatever it takes to beat the piss out of each other, but we'll shake hands and possibly have a brew after. PS- "ya'll" can't handle NW beer.
From what one of my players said, Garrett's trip was (I'll say it again) less than stellar. He loved Knoxville, loved the school, loved the people, LOVED the stadium, but...Coach Kiffin did not meet him. No offensive coach did. The OC was in a meeting. From what I was told, Garrett loved the place, but felt snubbed by the staff. The coaches from Louisville were up front with him and told him that they offered two other QBs and had to wait before pursuing Garrett.
Garrett willed his team to the playoffs last season. He is the real deal.
