'10 WA QB Garrett Grayson

A 3 second pocket is a great pocket in the SEC... and he's not playing against SEC DL's or DB's.

Maybe he's improved significantly but it looks weak on the film he's posted as highlights.

He doesn't play in a very strong area for football. Washington and Oregon as wholes don't play very good football. Even if he were a one man team, he should look better than that. Sometime he takes off before there's any pressure at all.

Seems like Crompton was widely condemned last year for not hanging in the pocket, right?

If you ran a 4.6 and knew you could run for some yards every time you would take off to. Yes, he will never be able to do that like he does in high school. But, you do not expect a kid to say man I am just going to sit here in this pocket that is gaving down around me when he knows he can run for 20 plus.

Did Crompton have a 4.0 and make 30 on his ACT? Doubt it? This guy is by no means a Crompton. He has fully evolved brain.

Hey all in Volnation. I live out here on the west coast and have had a chance to see many of the QB's in this area. Let me start by saying this, GRAYSON IS THE BEST OF THE BUNCH, HANDS DOWN! If you thought Jake Heaps was one of the top QB’s in the country, you were mistaken. Grayson has worked alongside Heaps for 2 years in off-season work and has outperformed him on a consistent basis. The only difference between the 2 is Heaps has had a better team around him. Everyone in the NW knows that Grayson is the better talent of the 2 QB's. Grayson's video should only be viewed as an individual performance of athleticism, as he had to run for his life on many occasions and lacked WR's who can run the proper routes or get off the jams of DB's with any sense of urgency!

Aside from that, Grayson's work ethic is second to none! His coaches say they can't keep him out of the weight room. He is a 3 sport Varsity athlete (Forward in B-Ball that can 360* Dunk, and a hurdler in Track).

In 2-3 years, whoever ends up signing Garrett Grayson will be looking at him the way everyone is looking at Tim Tebow right now!!

Do you know him? are u him?

I wondered that same thing about boomboomblap. He's posted 5 times (all in this thread), and he seems to have an opinion on how Grayson's UT visit went and a good knowledge of his high school conference.

For the record, boomboomblap said he didn't know Grayson in one of his 5 posts.

I wish!! No, I live in the Portland Area, across the river from Vancouver. I have had the chance to see him play in person a few times and have been amazed. The rest of my info comes through word of mouth for area coaches and news clippings.

If you guys end up offering and getting him, you won't be disappointed! All of the Pac-10 schools put all of their efforts into these other "Highly Ranked" kids and got commitments, now Grayson has emerged this spring in the Sparqs Testing and Elite 11 Drills. His numbers aren't to shabby (6000 yards in 2 seasons) but he has been judged based on the talent around him.

Average, about 5-10 D-1 and D-2 kids come out each year. He in the 4A League (largest in the state, 1200+). There is also a 3A League in the same town and the 2 leagues cross over. He played against the 3A State Runner-Up in week 4 and threw for almost 400 yards, and 83% comp. rate.

Grayson took home the 'Golden Gun' award as the most accurate passer in that event, one that included a talented field of 'name' prospects (Elite 11 Story).

most underrated quality in an elite qb

"I just try not to think about it all the time and be patient with things, but I'd like to get that first offer" Grayson said of his approach. "I really feel like I'm one of the better quarterbacks out there though, I have confidence in my ability."

That ability, which also includes a 4.62 40-yard dash, has led to him throwing for just under 6,000 yards to this point in his high school career.

.

"Peyton Manning is my favorite quarterback of all time so I've kind of always known about Tennessee because of that and followed them some, it was a great trip. I've always been a fan of the SEC. I think it's the best conference in the country, so I was excited to be able to come down and check things out."

Strong praise for a guy with absolutely zero offers.

Wait until you see his Spring film. That is what got colleges so interested. He is a completely different looking QB than in those other videos.

You've seen this film?

A little bit from the Spring. Nobody was really recruiting him before he sent that out. Like I said that is why a lot of BCS schools are now recruiting him.
I would think it still makes sense as to why he doesn't any offers because as of right now they only have his Spring film to really go by where he looked like a completely different QB.

This is good to hear. I wasn't impressed with his rivals film at all. Is he legitimate SEC talent based on the spring film?

I'm still not sure if he's a legit SEC talent but he does look to have better arm strength in his spring videos. His mechanics need work but not as much as his Rivals video makes you think. He intrigues me a lot more than the other guys they've offered recently like Rettig and Rees.

Like I said, I have seen the kid in person and know what he can do.

Any of you seen him, other that the 2% of his season on YouTube?

If you get him, Great! If not, I think you will look back and wish!

Just my opinion, and hey, This is all speculation anyway!! Tom Brady was barely drafted!

Cool, thanks for your input.

“He attended camp at every northwest Pac-10 school and every one of them called me after camp and said they wished they hadn’t offered the prospects they did because (Garrett) was the best quarterback they’d seen,” Becksted said.

Not only did he camp with the Cardinals on Sunday, Grayson took a short trip south to Knoxville to meet with Lane Kiffen at Tennessee on Monday.

“As far as Louisville, he thought it went very good,” said Becksted. “He and his dad met with the head coach for about a half hour and they knew he was going to Tennessee today. All I know from Garrett is that he’s supposed to call the head coach at Louisville tonight or the first thing tomorrow on his cell phone.”

Per Scout... Louisville didn't offer. They told him they have a couple of QBs they are still waiting to hear back from...
