'10 TX S Ahmad Dixon

"No, I won't take any visits. I'm done," he said. "I'll take an unofficial and my parents will be on that trip with me. They didn't get to make the first trip so they'll go back with me.

Vols coaches also drove home to Dixon the point that they don't hesitate to play freshmen. Tennessee had a Freshman All-American in right tackle Aaron Douglas and might have had another one in safety Janzen Jackson had Jackson not been suspended three games for his arrest and violating team rules

SAN ANTONIO -- The autograph line had wound to a close and Ahmad Dixon headed toward the locker room inside the Alamo Dome when a young girl approached the four-star safety with one more T-shirt to sign.

As he scribbled his signature and No. 26, Dixon also talked about where -- the University of Tennessee -- he declared he would sign scholarship papers on Feb. 3 -- National Signing Day.

"It was a crazy moment. I really don't even know how to explain it to be honest with you. It was just one of those things where you look at every aspect of life and you try to see what's best. You look at the good, the bad and all of that," said the Waco, Texas, product. "Yeah, it was I wouldn't say a heat of the moment thing, but I guess you can just say it's going with the flow of how I was feeling and everything like that.

I really like this guy... going to be a stud.

And I love that he is done with visits. Says a lot about where he is at.

But it's never over until the signature is on paper. Stay strong AD

He SHUT DOWN PRATER AND THIS WAS HIS FIRST TIME PLAYING CB, AND HE ONLY PLAYED MAN OR COVER 3.... that should tell you something...

Dixon said getting away from Waco helped him make his decision. So did his parents' growing comfort level with UT's coaches.

"They felt they could trust those coaches no matter what happened," Dixon said.

Dixon's parents felt that comfort despite not visiting UT, which they will do later this month. Dixon said official visits to Auburn and Alabama are canceled.

"I'm done," he said flatly
I hope this solitifies that his parents are comfortable with him being at UT.

jason allen, rashad baker, deon grant, jabari greer, eric berry

I wouldn't say he shut him down. Prater had a few drops where he had his man beat and just didn't make the catch.

rivals gave him honorable mention for the "stock dropping" award, behind seastrunk. anyone know why this might be? i thought he played well. maybe its bc he committed to tennessee...

Are you serious. How could his stock drop after that game... he was all over the place and playing a position he doesn't play CB v. Safety.

This has Tennessee hate all over it.

I wonder why he did not wait to the USAAA game to commit. It would have been a big splash for UT to get him in front of a national audience. His committment plus Willis would have taken some of the luster from UF's big day.

By the time he talked to them about announcing on tv, all the slots had been filled. At least that's the rumor that's been reported.

Yea we'll watch his stock drop while he's out there ballhawking the field like Berry and Michael Griffin and absolutely bulldozing ppl when he lays the wood. Man him and JJ in the same secondary there's not gonna be alot of teams that will be able to go across the middle on these guys or it's gonna hurt
