Had a 95-yard kickoff return TD as well...so at least 459 all-purpose yards and 5 TDs on Friday

I have been told by a few ensworth students that the coaches have said if they miss on the 2 RBs ranked ahead of him he will get the offer.

Chances we offer as an athlete a la Ryan Karl from BGA a few years back? Thoughts?

Anyone know if / where / how else Ensworth uses him?

I'm pretty sure he plays RB and KR. I don't know if they play him on the defensive side of the ball considering Antonio Richardson is already there. This totes the rock a ton already.

He doesn't play defense. He's experimented at I think linebacker for a few practices, but he really doesn't play defense.

I wouldn't mind if he ended up our RB for this class. It certainly couldn't hurt with the recruitment of Richardson next year.

Orleans is a Javon ringer type back that can be fed the rock 25-30 times per game. I wouldn't be upset if Tennessee struck out with the big boys and took him, and as another poster said it would give us an inside track on richardson

Anyone else seen McBride from MUS? I really think that he is every bit of the back that Darkwa is, plus he is a little bigger and seems to have the speed to go with it (Track State Champ in either the 100 or 200 and runner up in the other).

Like Darkwa, he holds an Army offer and seems to be on hold with some SEC schools. I know that Tennessee has been in contact with him similar to what they have done with Darkwa. Missed a couple of games early with an injury, but has been producing of late. Does not put up Darkwa's number's, but his team has several options in Brunetti and another RB/WR that is a D1 talent, so his touches are less. I like his versatility because he is a good receiver out of the backfield as well.

Runningbacks are very common, when you get down to the third tier guys, its take your pick. Darkwa is a back that will have a chance to make an impact somewhere as a junior or senior. But I dont see this guy tearing it up in D1 anytime soon.

I'd say pass, we will have Toney Williams back won't we? I think he fills the big back role for us next season. Go after a position we need more depth at, and look for a back or two next year. are we really even that interested though?

Hardesty will graduate and its highly likely that Pools will transfer.

We will take a RB this year. No Doubt. We must have one. It is also part of the USC thing too. Bring in a Stud every year.

I guess it would make sense then to try and get a back, I wasn't aware that Poole was seriously thinking about transferring and I guess it doesn't hurt at all to load up like you had mentioned USC doing....I guess it's worked out alright for them haha.

Best shot imo will be Parker or Bernard, but I believe UT still has a shot at Dyer and Lattimore.

Don't know if this has been posted but Orleans was hurt And taken to the hospital last night with a neck/spine injury.

Tailback Orleans Darkwa sustained what appeared to be a neck injury midway through the third quarter, but rushed for 133 yards and a pair of scores on 11 carries before leaving the game. After sitting behind the Ensworth bench, he was escorted out of the stadium early in the fourth period and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

He should be fine...

Any chance we offer this kid? Are we holding out to see what Dyer or Bernardi do? I just dont see an "elite" RB coming here with our depth. Even not considering we have 2 of the Top 10 rated RB's from the '09 class....we also have Williams and Poole. I hope we dont end up waiting on one of the the "big" guys, get shafted like in the Scroggins deal, and miss out on recruits like Darkwa.

Poole is going to transfer next year.

Barton Simmons of rivals has evaluated Darkwa and likes what he sees. "I think he's a heck of a player. There haven't been many players as durable and strong as he is" Simmons said. "He runs a little upright, but he is efficient in what he does. There's not a whole lot of hesitation in the hole". Darkwa has nor been heavily recruited, but that may pick up. Simmons says Darkwa could play on the SEC level as a running back or perhaps as a safety with his speed and strength. ( the tennessean )
It also said he has no concussion, and no structural damage from his injury Friday night against Baylor. Coach Bowers says it's unlikely he will play this Friday but will be ready for the playoffs. Darkwa now has 6,107 career yards 9th all time in tssaa history
