'10 TN QB Barry Brunetti

i think we need to start going after dual threat with big arms....maybe adapt alittle

yea....these coaches need to scrap their philosophy and run the wishbone!

G. jones at QB with Hardesty, Brown and Oku in the backfield!!!

Bring in Turner Gill to coach it!!!!He was great at it at Nebraska!:birgits_giggle:

IMO, Brunetti and Pat White are similar with White having more speed and being a little more elusive. I might actually give Brunetti the upper hand for arm strength. As far as accuracy, I would say they are close with Pat White having a slight edge.

I would say that he is more than "a little more elusive". Pat is the most elusive QB since M. Vick.

Guys, I think we should get this Brunetti thread cranked back up. I still believe once Scroggins makes it official, Brunetti will start showing a lot of interest again. He's obviously still very interested in UT by making the statements that he has. I think UT will pick their interest up with him more now too. I still believe he de-commits from UWV and commits to UT before it's over. I think Brunetti is our best shot of landing a good QB for the 2010 class, unless we go the Juco route. I believe this kid will be turned. JMO....

Brunetti and Bray would make a nice 2010 class. Bray, with work, will be an excellent QB.

But both could be recruited over in 2011.

Bray and Brunetti would be a great get. Don't think it's gonna happen IMHO

Bruce Feldman was on 104.5 in Nashville

he implicated that West Va. would have a hard time holding onto Brunetti... that he spoke with Brunetti at a camp recently and it was clear he has deep feelings for Tennessee and was 'hurt' to some degree that we only offered in reaction to West Va. offer...

He said he is not a mid-term enrollee and that he will likely be open to recruitment up until signing day.. long way to go on him.

On Bray he mentioned that Scroggins was clearly the best QB at the USC camp but at subsequent camp (in which Scroggins attended) Bray was the best QB there and impressed everyone...

He said that Bray only weighs about 190lb right but that his father is "the largest person he's ever seen".. He's a former college bball player that is 6'10 and 350lbs... huge. Bray's father said he was about the same weight as Tyler when he left for college but graduated at 275lb...

Have to think Bray would be able to put on good weight without too much trouble.. if genes have anything to do with it..

Wow, 6'10" @350 lbs.....that's a big ole boy right there! I'm 5'11 @195lbs and I'm not fat either so I can't imagine being 6'6' @190 the kid is a toothpick. The kid could easily carry 30 lbs more and and still look thin. The kid needs to eat a few sandwiches or something.

Exact same size as my father...Rest his soul :cray:

It will be interesting to see how the recruitment of BB plays out. I know he loves WV,Coach Mullen and he is a prototype spread qb.. He also knows that he's not 2nd fiddle he's about 6th fiddle as far as the qb's UT wanted.

I predict he goes to WV but I could be wrong. Time will tell.

I'd like to see some competitive fire out of Brunetti.. It's easy to take the easy way out, and head to West Virginia. He needs to come into the SEC, and show everyone the type of QB he can be and is! I know this kid is physically capable, but hopefully he has the mental edge we need out of a QB. If not, then he's best suited at WV.

getting brunetti to choose ut would take some convincing. He committed to west virginia in june.

“i know he’s committed to west virginia,” ambles said, “but it might change since i’m committed to tennessee now.”

John Brice is saying that the Ambles commitment may help us pull Brunetti back in the fold...

I made this prediction when Scroggins chose USC. I think this only helps our chances. Brunetti has never been solid with WVU whether he wants to admit it or not, IMO. He obviously still has interest in UT. They are still talking to him, and he is still listening.

Ambles and Brunetti are friends and you know Ambles has been on the phone with him and others already. That's why the recruits say they will recruit for the school, because coaches are limited contact, but recruits can call each other as much as they want.

Thank you and welcome Mr. Ambles to the Big Orange family. If Ambles is able to succesfully recruit Brunneti it will help us in three ways. First of all we need a good quarterback out of this class and I believe that Brunneti is an excellent quarterback. Second, landing Brunneti would lend more credence to coach Kiffin's proclamation that he would put a fence around the state of Tennessee. The last, but certainly not least is the fact that Brunneti would play his guts out for Tennessee, because regardless of his commitment to West Virginia, the kid bleeds orange. I think that I can speak for the majority of Vol fans when I say good luck in getting Barry to realize how much we would appreciate him as our quarterback at Tennessee.
