'10 TN QB Barry Brunetti

I heard that the ducks are waiting to offer Brunetti late, due to a low gpa.

Here's what he had to say about the ducks:
"I love Oregon, I would love to get an offer and take a visit. I don't have one yet but I would really love to hear more from the University of Oregon." "We run a similar run option spread at school right now, I am deadly with my legs, but I look to throw first," says Brunetti. "Oregon 's offense is a perfect fit for me."

How many threads are you going to post this on? Who cares about the Ducs or dukes or whatever!:mf_surrender:

He goes to a private school. A 2.8 GPA at a school like MUS is probably as good as a 3.8 at many public schools in TN.

Exactly!

The coaches want Brunetti.

Not sure that has been decided yet. Offers don't necessarily mean that is who they want. Might be who they end up with and he may be a contingency plan.

I doubt any fan knows who they want... I've not talked to anyone who has seen the "board".

Good Assessment. His school uses a system where all classes are considered honors classes bc the course load at that school is equivalent to the honors program at most public schools. His GPA at first sight appears to be something like a 2.1, but when you factor in that its an honor course, its more like a 2.6. A bunch of schools backed off recruiting him because they did not understand this apparently. (Again, all this is from the same coach)

Top Memphis QB says he'll get offer from UT | tennessean.com | The Tennessean

Brunetti said Tuesday he was told recently by UT recruiting coordinator/defensive line coach Ed Orgeron to expect a written scholarship offer in the mail soon.
“I was shocked but excited at the same time,” Brunetti said about the offer. “I’ve always been a Vol fan so to hear I should be getting an offer from a school I’ve been loving all my life was very exciting.”

well there is one guy here that knows exactly who they want.

Sounds promising in the article because of the depth situation. I like how he said that the situation with scroggins and hendrix will not play a part in his decision... he knows that we have to offer more than one person. So far sounds like a smart kid.

Awesome news. If he does come, i hope he brings a bunch talent from memphis with him. Also, thanks for sharing the info.

He's the number one dual threat quarterback in the nation according to Rivals and ESPN so this would be a big get. To me he's like Jacques Smith an in-state kid who loves the Vols.

I have serious doubts that he will come here, simply because he's a dual-thread QB. However, I don't see the harm in letting the kid come in and prove himself in a pro-style system.

Looks like this would be a great addition for you. I wouldn't worry about the "DT" designation - if the coaches felt impressed enough to offer, that says a lot about his athleticism and adaptability. Also, getting a "life-time" fan is worth a lot, I believe. Congratulations - (I know, no commitment yet, but can't see this guy going anywhere else!)
