Maybe Coach Monte is great,,,,,,,,we don't know yet. I know that everyone thought that Marvin Lewis was a genius but after he left for Cincy, his star dimmed and that Raven defense just kept on chugging. Maybe it's the PLAYERS that have made that defense great.......hmmm.. interesting thought.
Check resumes and get back to me.k: Monte Kiffen is an excellent coach and will be remembered for years to come. So will CNS. Sometimes you have to be objective when you post.

i'm lost as well..Nick Saban is a proven college head coach...Monte Kiffin is a proven NFL defensive coordinator, and not only is he a proven one he was considered the best in the NFL. If you are a defensive player looking to play in the NFL, do you go after a coach who failed miserably there or the greatest defensive mind the NFL has? I'm not sure why you said to check the resumes...

I will admit he is one of the best....defensive minds......in the SEC........west.I know volnation would never admit that CNS is one of footballs greatest minds, but he is as good as any out there. You can say the same for Monte, but can you say that about Lane??? The football team will resemble the head coach, bottomline.. Personally, I think he has a good chance of being sucessfull... He's just not yet... Stay tuned, this is gonna get good!!!!

Two early favorites for Watch List 'backer Justin Maclin
Top junior Justin Maclin currently has LSU and Alabama on top of his list. ESPN affiliate Web site TigerGumbo.com reports.
"I like coach Nick Saban and the position he wants to play me to play at, I think I have a good chance to play," Maclin said. "I've always liked LSU. My dad is friends with the running backs coach, coach Porter, so I've always been close to the program and I've always liked them."
Despite the Bayou Bengals and Tide holding the early lead, Maclin doesn't anticipate making a decision anytime soon, "I'm either going to make it after the football season or after signing day."
North Carolina, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Memphis and Illinois have also extended scholarship offers to Maclin.
