and our young corners, that were very confussed today.

While I certinaly can't compliment the corners, I put more blame on the D-line and any linebackers blitzing. There really aren't a lot of great cover corners in college football. Giving a QB all day to throw is a death sentence for a secondary.

1. Many of my past criticisms of Phillip Fulmer have centered on personality issues. Those were extraneous to the debate and I apologize.
2. I have steadfastly defended John Chavis. I can't do that after today.
3. The play of our team in the second half was an embarassment to every player, ex-player, coach and fan of the University of Tennessee. If guys don't want to play, find people who do. There shouldn't be a single position that isn't up for grabs this week.
4. Pat Riley once talked about how once your players quit responding to your voice, you never get them back. UT's staff has reached that point.
5. Each defensive lineman should look in the mirror this week. Their collective play was abysmal.
6. Our fans who said Saban's impact was being overrated look exceptionally silly now.
7. Deion Sanders always talked about the need for a short memory at defensive back. I hope Eric Berry has that.
8. I hope everyone shows up next week and cheers like hell against South Carolina. The issue that has divided our fan base the last couple of years is now obviously going to be addressed at the end of the year. Time to defend our home field against Spurrier & Co.
9. DJ Hall will soon join Anthony Lucas in the pantheon of WRs who dominated us, then went on to do absolutely nothing in the NFL.
10. Look on the bright side. Major Applewhite won't be at Alabama for more than a couple of more years.
Hat......that rocks!!!

I agree that this is the right thing to do. However, for those serious about wanting a change, the only way it'll happen is if there are empty seats in Neyland Stadium.

The day Hell freezes over is when they will be empty seats in Neyland but i agree Fulmer must go and Hamilton to if he cant agree to fire or let Phil resign.

My thought? 100-37.

I think a change will be made at the end off the year. CPF really stepped in it today. I would not be surprised if he announced his retirement at the end of the season. If I had that kind of performance against two major rivals and had the best interest of my alma mater at heart, I would be considering such a move.

I hate Texas just slightly less than Alabama. Every time they showed Applewhite in the press box, I wanted to throw something through the TV.

I hate Texas considerably more than I hate Alabama. Nausea descends upon me everytime I have to give Applewhite credit.

I'll give it a few years before I give Major credit for anything. Until today Bama had really accomplished nothing spectacular on offense.

As far as I'm concerned, the players can either "put up" or "shut up!" You can't come out every week and expect to play mediocrity and get the job done. If you played for me, you give it your all not just half. I don't want people playing for me without going out and giving it their all.
Where are your responsibilitese lying? First, it's God, family, country then school. In this case UT comes 3rd-in some cases. I may not make a lot of the home games or even away game, but I cringe and feel bad every time our Vols lose. I've felt the pain several times in the past. Once was when we lost a close game to Notre Dame or UCLA and even some of the conference games. No team is a pushover. Don't take any team for granted or play up or down to their level. Play at your best every week-give it your all and leave nothing on the field.
Be proud to play for your school/university!
GO VOLS!

Check the difference in Rice's production this year to last. Applewhite will be a head coach at a BCS school within five years.

That's true. It's not like he even really had pressure. He had plenty of room to step into his throws and some good throwing lanes.

I was going to say Tennessee until I realized you said a BCS school.

Wow, I guess time will tell though. It just seems like such a big jump in such a short time, but if he's capable as you say, some team will be getting a great upgrade in a couple of years.

i dont know how good anyone can look in the SEC with eveybody beating each other up. Meyer winning the NC is even more impressive this year. I'd like to see LSU get a shot at the NC, their schedule was tough.

True, it's looking more and more as Oklahoma is going to run the table and make it in. I think OSU will lose against a healthy Michigan team. Unless Arizona State or Kansas define all odds and go undefeated then 2 one loss teams will be meeting for the title

OU is going to have all they can handle in the Big XII title game against Missouri. The trip to Lubbock won't be a walk, either.

OSU will lose in Happy Valley next Saturday. Boston College will lose Thursday night.

Thursday night should be great, two of the most overated football teams playing. Tech should win. As for PSU winning, they need Morelli to have a good game.

Who do you have in the title game Hat? I have Oklahoma and Oregon/WVU/OSU-LSU is not playing at the level they were during the first 2/5ths of the season.

They were calling for applewhite's head before today. We not only make mediocre qb's look like world beaters we make assistants into instant head coaching material. Dang we bring out the best in people don't we.

I haven't even thought that far ahead. I think OU's going to have a really tough time winning out with the two or three guaranteed busts DJ Wolfe makes in the secondary. Missouri on a neutral field will be tough. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see USC in New Orleans.
