10 Thoughts

Fire the whole staff. 2 complete embarrassments to our biggest rivals.

D-line comment was spot on. Do they know we are allowed to rush the passer? We made John Parker Wilson look like John Parker Elway. Disgraceful.

All good points.

The only thing I would add, Chavis really struggles with teams that spread the field.

As many teams do that now, I think its time to look at a 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 for a base defense.

Spurrier owns Phil
I will root for my Vols, but I don't expect to win, nor will I set myself up with high hopes for a win for the rest of this year. If we win it will just be a nice surprise. I'm done with Phil and Co.
Damn it, we sit around all year long with high hopes of having a good team and winning these types of game only to be kicked in the teeth and have to wait knowing BS team beat you the year before and hope that next year will b different. I'm so pissed I can't see straight.

Spurrier hasn't owned Phil in almost a decade. They're 3-3 in the last 6 and Phil has won 2 out of 3. Obviously he owns the overall record and has the mental edge over him if you think Phil worries about "history", but 2 of 3 and 3-3 speak for themselves.

I'm really too hacked off at the performance of the Vols today to discuss issues. I will just say I'm getting sick and tired of going through the summer anticipating the upcoming football season to have to hope for help from someone else beating Florida after the third week of the season. Somebody did help before today and now we can't hold up our end of the bargain. I don't know what else to say.

If more people knew what they were talking about, we wouldn't need those who do to point out the facts.

so, barring an unlikely comeback, what does that have to say about how we handle LG when he reports for duty later tonight or tomorrow morning?

1. Many of my past criticisms of Phillip Fulmer have centered on personality issues. Those were extraneous to the debate and I apologize.
2. I have steadfastly defended John Chavis. I can't do that after today.
3. The play of our team in the second half was an embarassment to every player, ex-player, coach and fan of the University of Tennessee. If guys don't want to play, find people who do. There shouldn't be a single position that isn't up for grabs this week.
4. Pat Riley once talked about how once your players quit responding to your voice, you never get them back. UT's staff has reached that point.
5. Each defensive lineman should look in the mirror this week. Their collective play was abysmal.
6. Our fans who said Saban's impact was being overrated look exceptionally silly now.
7. Deion Sanders always talked about the need for a short memory at defensive back. I hope Eric Berry has that.
8. I hope everyone shows up next week and cheers like hell against South Carolina. The issue that has divided our fan base the last couple of years is now obviously going to be addressed at the end of the year. Time to defend our home field against Spurrier & Co.
9. DJ Hall will soon join Anthony Lucas in the pantheon of WRs who dominated us, then went on to do absolutely nothing in the NFL.
10. Look on the bright side. Major Applewhite won't be at Alabama for more than a couple of more years.

neither will Saban

when someone runs off like a little girl and then just shows up to show us how smart he thinks he is, I don't think too highly of it. Just my opinion.

This was my point of the post. all the other number are pure drivel. Thanks for playing.

I agree that this is the right thing to do. However, for those serious about wanting a change, the only way it'll happen is if there are empty seats in Neyland Stadium.

I agree that EMPTY SEATS will get their attention through their pocketbook! And YES NOW is the time to get their attention, not at the end of the year when their pockets are full! At the end of the year Hamilton will give a BS speach about how we have got to work harder, ect, ect, Fulmer's same BS. NOW is the time act! Mid level teams act at the end of the year, and thats the road we are going down if the bleeding is stopped NOW!!!!!! FIRE EM ALL NOW!!!!!!!! With the losses we have now this year is a bust anyway shape, or form!!!!!

what's scarey about this game is knowing that for all the post game b.s. the bammers are talking, their team took the field hoping to stay even with the vols. not only are they a mediocre team, they were short handed for gosh sakes. well, look at the way the orange bent over for them. it looked like your typical bear bryant-battle/majors a**kicking. if they could do that to our team with what they had today, just think of the next few years, when saban gets settled in with his recruits. if you want to see swagger, wait till next october, when the bama team strolls into neyland.

All good points, Hat. If we can't rally to defend our home field against Spurrier's squad, I will be sorely disappointed.

There is a huge potential for some ugliness against USC. Spurrier I would bet is salivating at attacking the worst pass rush in the history of football.

If that truly happens, we should write GA a thank you note. Without them, we would be the worst team in the east.
