Ten things to think about while we feel miserable after the UCLA loss and the impending doom of Florida.

1. Staff came in Dec yet still pulled off a #10 class.
2. Got the #1 player in USA to come to UT and we weren't on his radar beforehand.
3. We had kids at summer camp who were among who's who of high school players. Many of the top players are visiting.
4. GPA's are up
5. Arrests are down (zero as of today)
6. On a day after a loss we got commits from the two best defensive ends in SC and started a pipeline to the best program in SC. (maybe a visit from Lattimore?)
7. On the same day we got a commit from the best WR/athlete in the state of Oklahoma.
8. These three commits vaulted us to the #3 class on Scout.com yet we are the only program in their top ten that is not ranked at all and coming off a losing record two of the last four years.
9. We commited no offensive or defensive penalites against UCLA other than the special teams penalties. We are not holding , jumping offsides, using time outs because we can't get a play called etc. so these guys are being well coached.
10. Fulmer couldn't manage even a 50-50 split with Fla so one more this year won't make much of a difference. Take it in stride and think about 2011.

Folks we are laying the foundation for a return to being competitive with the big boys again. To use a much overworked cliche "Rome wasn't built...... and this program will not be rebuilt in a season.

11. According to Scout.com Tennessee's 2009 recruiting class was better than Florida's #8 to #21; and this year's recruiting class is also ahead of Florida #3 to #9.

Hopefully, a sign of better times ahead, after losing 5 of the previous 6 seasons to Florida in the recruiting battles.

Florida could very well end up with the #1 class again. There are a ton of big names left with UF in their top 2-3.

Yes...and on the other hand, the Vols might take away some the the recruits that the gators think they have...again. Who knows? It's a long time until NSD.

Feel better? Can't go a thread without saying something. We'll see who ends up #1. Maybe UF, maybe not.

Exact same can be said of AT LEAST 5 teams in the country. UT is still in on several top guys as well. Florida is JUST as likely to NOT sign any of those big names too, you know. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, we are gaining in strides on the top teams. The talent is coming back to Knoxville and we will be back to being a top tier team soon...sooner than most TROLLS will care to admit.

Good post.

Keeping the score respectable tomorrow is a moral win for UT.
Anything less that an annilation of UT is a loss for Florida.
