Ironic that the FSU mod posted that the same day Willis came out and said that he wasn't decommitting from Tennessee.. We all know how hearing "its a done deal" works out..

This sounds bad. Pretty disappointing turn of events with what seemed to be one of our most solid commitments of all.

On a serious note, Is it just me or does it seem like our whole freaking class is getting raided? At the rate this is going we will not have a class to sign come February. Everything I have read on the UT recruiting front, with the exception of the Kippy Brown hiring lately, has been negative. I love keeping up with recruiting but in times like this I hate it. Bruce Irvin? Brandon Willis? Markeith Ambles? Now Michael Taylor? Anthony Johnson? R. Broussard? Ken Adams? P. Harris? Thats a pretty tough licking if you ask me. I hope our staff are good closers because we are getting our butts kicked right now. Plus, I would put money that Lance Thompson is done after the bowl game which is not going to help matters with Ambles and Taylor. This royally blows.

What have you heard about Taylor? Yes we are taking quite the ass kicking on the recruiting front right now, but all will turn around after the witch hunt is over with. Brown was a great hire, and you cant keep good coaching and a winning tradition such as the one that we have here down for long! Kiffin im sure has learned, and it will be a valuable tool at his disposal in the future. This stafff will put together a nice class regardless of all the defections we see that may or may not even happen. This is TENNESSEE we dont hold our heads down for anyone. NCAA, and chicken littles be damned , Tennessee will rise again.

It's so obvious that it is completely due to the NYT business. They should be taken to court. It's slanderous.

I'm just curious. When does Willis' official visit to Miami end? Is it still during a time where any of our coaches can contact him to get in the last word, or will we be unable to contact him? I know the dead period starts Monday, but not sure what the rules are for the "Quiet Period" or whatever you call this weekend.

I guess the timing sure is good for Miami with getting him to visit right before a 2-wk dead period.

There is a possibility of Thompson and Coach O leaving after the bowl game and that is what the other recruiters are selling. The bad thing is that we are selling those NFL type coaches to these recruits and not the university itself. So when someone leaves the recruits have second thoughts.

The good thing is that we are replacing good coaches with better coaches when we get the opportunity. But these kids may not realize it with all of the negative recruiting going on.

Considering the bowl is a month before national signing day, that is pretty much irrelevant as it relates to today. Any coaching changes will be known by then.

NSD does not apply to an EE like Willis. He does not sign LOI, just enrolls in school in Jan. :hi:

I thought the Coach O and Thompson leaving was just rumor. Lane said he doesn't expect to lose anymore coaches this season. Is this just a lie? Where do we think they are going? I thought the Louisville and USC options were again, just rumors and most likely wouldn't happen. What truth have we seen to know that there is a serious possibility of either of them leaving?

what are you basing this on? Here is what CLK said on 12/17

"I give full support for our guys leaving and getting better jobs, and I help them, too. I make calls for them, and Ed Orgeron and Lance Thompson have had, to my knowledge and what they've told me, no interaction or contact with any other schools."

:good!:Gotcha. Just goes to show how little I know about/follow recruiting. These are HS kids that may or may not pan out. I just don't feel the need to stress over them like some do.

I hope every kid that wants to be a Vol will turn out as an All American, but unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way. Today's "sure thing" is often tomorrow's gas pumper.:p
