'10 OLB/DE Avery Williamson

I don't think you're understanding me. I think Williamson could be an elite talent, it is hard to compare him to these other guys because of the talent level he faces. He is a smart, extremely hard working kid, who dominates no matter who he faces or at least to this point. I think if he doesn't become an elite talent, he would still be a very good LB that you would feel comfortable playing if needed. Again if we can land these great LBs who have faced elite competition fine; I'm just saying I think Williamson could be a very good LB for us maybe more.

The coaches do not share your sentiment. I'm going with their judgment.

I believe A.Williamson will be an excellent LB for Kentucky, and that TN is going to miss out. With that said, I believe West TN and TN as a hole is getting a bad wrap for not producing quality D1 talent. So far the vols have really whiffed on I West TN recruit, CD and he still has a chance to pan out even though he will probably not live up to his 5* expectations. Alot of West TN talent in the past has contributed to the VOL tradition. Can someone help me put a list of Vols from west tn together. (Jeff Smith, 85 Sugar Bowl, Ernest Fields, John Fisher, George Kidd, Al Wilson, Ellix Wilson and Cedric Wilson, T.Hines, Linemen from Humbolt TN (95-98? and Union City (88-91) please list more if you can. (I hope this helps some of the younger Volnation members, a little TN Vol history lesson).

Anyone who played against or watched film on Donald knew he was nowhere near a 5 star recruit. Ran the ball hard but was very soft at LB. Nothing soft about Avery Williamson's game. UT is really missing out on one here. On top of being a specimen, he's a great character kid with good grades. Well, maybe not the type of kid UT football likes.

I'm so glad to know you're a better evaluator of talent than Scout, Rivals, or UT's coaches. Clearly, you're the one who should be making millions and not Kiffin.

IDK I thought Donald could be a beast at times but wasn't consistent in big time games. Avery will be a better player it just won't be for UT. Every program takes on some risky players.

He'll be better than Donald. That's clearly a reason UT should be all over him.

Clearly you know everything by your posts. I love how you undercut everyone's opinions while not adding anything of intelligence or substance in this thread.

Memphis, Vandy, and even MTSU haven't offered him. The only other schools besides UK to offer him were Arkansas State and New Mexico.

I'll trust the opinions of their coaches and UT's coaches over the armchair coaches in this thread any day.

Sorry if that offends you. Actually, on second thought, I'm not.

Which brings us to the point what are you even doing in the thread, if you don't care what anyone has to say? You're last comment is just funny because it confirms what I figured all along.

Your just the prime example of another Vol fan with uneducated football knowledge. Hanging West TN football on Chris Donald, but doesn't want to comment on Al Wilson, Justin Harrell, J. Greer, Cedric Wilson, E. Fields ect. ect. oh..yeah...Patrick Willis...

The difference in your opinion and everyone elses who seems to think A Williamson will be elite is your narrow vision of talent. Anybody can go to rivals and say they want the top 50 national players in the country "because they are the elite" . Don't count on Rivals too much, SGMvols. If Williamson plays next year for UK...hes going to get his and it will be another R. Cobb story of "why did he not go to UT".

I would love to see the Dooley throw an offer Avery's way. I graduated Milan in 2008. Iv seen Avery play a lot of football. The kid is a beast and with all the UT fans pressuring him out in Milan I wonder if he could be swayed.

If UT offers and he decommits from UK as a result, he's just as bad as Kiffin.

Avery is all Wildcat. However, with Kitten gone, he would be more interested.

SGM knows how to compare apples to oranges :birgits_giggle:

Chad Clifton and Will Ofenheusle added to that list :)

I was a coach on that team back then (Clifton had just left in 94)... Westview 1995-1999... I played there from 1986-89 ... I coached Tight Ends/D-Ends and head coach of the JV Squad...

Freshman year Harrell was my Fullback :)

After that I coached him at DE and TE... at DE if he had a TE he payed heads up 8 tech... no TE on his side he played a 5 tech on the tackle...
