He is one of several QB prospects that Tennessee will evaluate this spring.

Every time he throws, I just see that huge windup. Reminds me of McNabb in that aspect.

Throws *look* a little clunky to me, but strength is there and shows a little touch at times. Not salivating but you can see there's some ability there to be coached up.

De Smet's had four kids sign LOIs to D1 schools in the past 3 or 4 seasons. I'd say that puts them on par for most of the St. Louis area schools.

That said, from what I recall other coaches talking about DeSmet football, I was surprised to see him under center so much.

I watched the video and actually thought he was not too bad. Has some potential. Arm strength is there. I like that he takes snaps under center. Throws well on the move.

The windup is the only big concern.

Didn't you think he had decent velocity when he actually set his feet? When the ball was delivered, I liked the final product.

His film at Scout has a little more to show than the free ESPN footage, if anyone's interested.

I agree. I don't think he is a bad prospect at all. Just not well known. And that's not his fault.

"From what we're being told from our friends at VolQuest.com is that the Volunteers next move is to go after San Diego State committed quarterback and four-star Tyler Bray. If Bray doesn’t work out, we’re told that SMU commitment Stephen Kaiser would be their following option."

from the SMU rivals page.

Kaiser's response to this....

“I went there and I liked the camp,” he said. “Overall, I didn’t like it as much as the other schools. It felt different and there’s something about the other schools that seemed better than Tennessee that I liked for me."

“Coach Chaney had him as his number two. Coach Kiffin had him down a little farther.”

i bet that kid is a pitcher and a QB as i was, but he is trying to use his baseball mechanics to play QB, good luck at SMU. oh and who ever compared him to casey clausen other than the obivouis i dont think CC ran a 4.6 40 either.

Bryant just broke some news that there is a quarterback who is 100% committed to Southern Methodist but that would change if UT were to offer.

Recruiting has clearly changed the definition of the word "commitment."

If UT ends up taking Kaiser as it's QB for this class I will be pissed. I understand that the coaches know more than I do, but I just don't get what Chaney sees in him. He is not a "big fish".
