The wide receivers and QB play has been so bad, the Vols should just line up with 10 linemen and let Kelly take a direct snap and just run the ball. It would have to gain more than 5 yds total offense in 29 minutes.

Guarantano is in so far over his head and Dormady makes too many mistakes. Neither one adds anything positive to the cause. The WRs can't get off the line of scrimmage nor can they get open unless the defense is playing prevent defense. The Vols can't block a defense with 5 offensive linemen.

Double that number of linemen and see if they can block for Kelly to run the ball.

(Maybe type this in purple font. Not entirely in jest).

The false starts would kill us. Butch Jones team's have a knack at picking up penalties at the worst time.

But, I'm thinking that possibility is cancelled out by the loss of 5 yds every time the Vols throw the wide receiver screen all of the way across the field. At least the false start doesn't cost us a down with the 5 yd loss.

so, the offensive scheme and playcalling doesn't have anything to do with anything...just a bunch of bad players doing nothing...ok, now I get it...:)

GO VOLS!

GO VOLS!

You've become a one trick pony.

The play calling is awful, the player development is worse. The wide receivers and the quarterbacks have been useless for the last month. Need to try something different. If Jennings was healthy, I'd be all for putting him at QB. He can run and he would be compete.

"Butch (stinks) and should have been fired at halftime of the Georgia game." RV, hope that satisfies you enough that you will stay off this thread now.

I think we should do a lot of the same stuff except for throw it deep at least once every time we get the ball. Hail Mary!

Well, first you are gonna have to find a WR who can get off the line of scrimmage vs press coverage and you will only be able to send out one receiver and keep 9 in to block to give the WR time to get off the press and get at least 5 yd upfield. Of course, the safeties will be back because they are not needed to provide support in stopping our run game.

OK, Callaway goes deep, the rest block. Simple enough even a caveman could do it. :)

It is obvious to me that now, we have put as much thought into our offensive game plan than Larry Scott and his coaches have done all year. Butch should hire us!!

There are a lot of options that these boring coaches haven't explored. Maybe try some jet sweeps with Calloway and Byrd? Misdirections with Kelly and the two that I just mentioned? Ole Miss had our lunch running that very offense in 2009 with Dexter McCluster.
