'10 JUCO QB Matt Simms

I would be shocked. I really think Kiffin wants his guy. I cant see someone who has had multiple shots 2 beat out Jon Cromp and failed every single time being our guy. I think if Simms comes in and learns the playbook, he will be the starter for UT-Martin, but if he does not play well, wouldnt be suprised to see Bray play against the Skyhawks, and win the job for the Oregon game. Will be interesting to see.

Its clearly Simms v Stephens for the starting position. I believe Simms will win it because Stephens (ginger) has no work ethic and this staff has no confidence in him what so ever. Bray may have an outside shot at mid season playing time depending on the reliability of the other two.

He's had praise from Kiffin for his good work in practice.

When did CLK ever praise Lamaison for his performance in practice against the #1's? Only interview I remember seeing when NL was mentioned, CLK just basically said he had a LONG way to go to be able to contribute at all. If you happen to still have a link to the video or article I'd appreciate it.

Can Jon Crompton get a sixth year of eligibility? LMAO:)

These kids have to be looking at how CLK and staff have changed Crompton and how much better he has gotten since the season began. So who ever we get, HS, JUCO. If they have raw talent, this staff will get it out of them.

Then lets crown him the chosen one
That's going from one extreme to the other.
He may well be just a backup figure the whole time. I'm not expecting a lot from him, but he was a JUCO 1st team AA, and that puts him on par with Simms and Newton stat-wise.
I'm withholding judgement on him until Spring. I don't see why other vol fans don't do the same, instead of assuming he's going to automatically go in the cellar, never to be heard from or seen again. Give the man some time before you step all over his jock.

In other words, you regularly have no idea what you're talking about.

The option that plays the best at fall camp will play.

Ppl on VQ are saying that we may not offer any JUCO at all. These are 2 very reliable guys too. One of them does say they are saying this off limited info tho. Found it very interesting. AND to fuel the fire, one said he has heard something about every one of the top 5 Pro Style QBs on the Rivals rankings.....hmmmm

That none of them are as good as the 6th ranked QB, Tyler Bray. Reported by El V a few weeks ago.

this is quite possible. the need for lineman is so great we may opt to not go after another QB.. I've been out of town for a week but have heard this as a possibility.

in recruiting though, things change daily...
