Based on talent alone, that's a no-brainer. However, I still get the impression that Newton is the type of player who could cause problems if he were asked to hold a clip board for Bray. That's the last thing the staff needs.

I just watched his tape last nite; I meant as far as accuracy and spiral. His passes looked wabley and inaccurate. JMO though; do I want him in orange, HELL YEAH. The theory that the next QB will have pressure on him is ludicris. Us UT fans have put up with poor QB play long enough, a slightly better than avg QB would excite me!

There was a reason why Brantley passed him on the depth chart despite Newton having an extra year in the system. His accuracy is a huge, HUGE (can't stress this enough) concern. Why would they offer Newton when they told Boyd they weren't honoring his offer? Maybe it was his knee, others said that he didn't fit the system. If Boyd doesn't, how can Newton?

yes there is a reason, brantleys dad played qb at florida, as for boyd clk did not know how bad the oline was going to be this year and looks like next, his system is not the hurry up but we looked best last game doing that, we could have used boyd for a couple years on that reason alone. every system can adapt, mobile wouldnt hurt.
