are we persuing him hard? Or are we waiting to see what other qb prospects we can get to commit before we really get after him? I think it would be smart to sign him with two other qbs to have a guy who can start early while the other two battle it out and learn the system.
I'd like to see us land 2 HS kids and Newton. If Newton wins outright, then we can redshirt the other two, so they have a full 3yrs to play. If he doesn't, then he gets moved to WR and be just as valuable...at 6'6".

6'6" amd 250. There's no way he'll play receiver. TE maybe, but definitely not WR. Let's just get him in and learn the system, so he can let the others mature.

I didn't think Warren would be a WR either. If Newton runs a 4.5, I say WR it is. That's more of a mismatch against short DB's, whereas TE's usually get covered by a LB.

He could lose weight faster than he could add it

I agree, he would be a huge WR and he might even pick up a little speed also with the weight loss.

We're recruiting him as QB where's this WR talk coming from? Doesn't make any sense. We have plenty of WR, just no one to get them the ball. So, why would he be a WR?

Agreed. I don't think he would even be considering us if we didn't want him to play QB.

Haha!!...I am sitting here reading this stuff and trying to figure out how in the blue blazing hell We would even consider making this guy a WR when he was a 5 star QB coming out of high school...Heck even some gator fans are worried he is coming here from what I've been reading...He's a QB, not a WR or a TE but a QB :clapping:

That's what I was saying. How the conversation got steered to him being a WR. He's a QB in every sense. Just because he's use to the spread offense, he can still take snaps from center and make the necessary throws. That stuff is coachable. Height, Arm strength, moxy, pocket awareness isn't.

What about pocket presents?

Hey I personally like the thought of a 6'6 QB with speed that can run out of the pocket when nobody is open and make something happen....Big reason why they call them "Duel Threat" QB's and that big boy has already shown he is extra tough to bring down....Whats not to like?

Personally, I think cameron is a silent. I think the news will leak out that he is a commit sometime after we get a HS QB committed to us.

He really THAT mobile? 6'6 250 is pretty damn big. I hope some people aren't assuming he's Vick. I'm thinking more along the lines of JaMarcus Russell.

Because he's black.
