I searched for Cam Newton. There is an older thread with not much up to date info regarding the subject. I started a new thread to get some more information on the subject. Which is my prerogative.
I appreciate the rest of you providing more info. I would like to get this guy. If, he can help our team. And, he wasn't the one stealing.
Well, Hood has a better GPA and SAT than 98% of the Gator team, so I doubt he'd qualify as a "Thug" in any sense of the word, and half that team would fit that description rather than him...so Gay-turd fans don't have anything to say in that regard. If he does sign with UT, I can already hear the rival fans saying we are Thug U just because of Newton and Hood. All well
I have to agree 100%, It would be just awesome if He came to UT and stuck it up Meyers rear and beat him and that Brantley kid....The perfect revenge...I can just picture him gator chomping the gator crowd as he walked of the field...The ultimate FU....Come on Cam, Be a VOL, That possible moment might be too much to pass upepper:
Is he the one who came in at the end of the game and truck-sticked one of our DB's two years ago?
Never mind...I found it YouTube - Cam Newton Trucks a Vol
They were saying on the sports monster this morning that if Newton transferred to UT he would be eligible this year because he redshirted in 2008. I thought he would be part of the 2010 recruiting class, but these quotes actually backs up what was being said on on the monster. Does anyone know for sure?
Quote:
Cameron Newton was a highly recruited 5 star QB from Atlanta, Georgia. He was recruited by the Florida Gators in the class of 2007, and earned the #2 spot behind Tim Tebow over other freshman John Brantley. Newton then was redshirted in 2008 (despite playing in the Hawaii game).
If Newton does go to Tennessee, he would compete with Senior Jonathan Crompton for the starting QB job. At 6 6, and 250lbs, getting Newton would be a coup for Lane Kiffin and Tennessee, as the Tennessee program has had questions at QB for years. Newton would bring toughness and skill to their team, which is missing because of lackluster recruiting by former Tennessee head coach Phil Fulmer.

I don't believe that information is correct. Newton HAS TO graduate from Blinn prior to being able to get into any division one school. I would be shocked if he can graduate in time to get here this fall. A story I saw from Blinn a few weeks back, he went through their spring practice with his sights set on playing QB for Blinn this fall.
He will have 2 years of eligibility (assuming he can get graduated by next summer) to play when he finishes at Blinn.
His situation is exactly like Brent Schaeffers situation. They both left a D-1 program and went to junior college. Brent was mid-August completing his JC work and graduating in order to get into Ole Miss. Don't be surprised if that is not same situation with Newton at Blinn. He is in 2010 class.
Decision on him and UT should happen in next few weeks IMO
You only have to graduate from a juco if you were a non qualifier out of high school. He was a qualifier out of high school so he can leave whenever he wants as long as he has satisfactory progress towards a degree he will be eligible.

So you are saying he could possibly enroll at UT and play this fall assuming he has satisfactory progress towards a degree?
He has to have completed 12 hours w/a 2.0 for each term and 1 year has to have passed since the transfer from the 4yr school. LWS is correct about him having to graduate because it has not been a year. My apologies to LWS.

Thanks but not necessary. I sure would not dispute your statement. I didn't know.
Rivals lists Newton as on track to graaduate in December from Blinn
