'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

I still think he ends up at Oklahoma but what do I know. This is from an interview with Prater. That says alot and it came as his 29th offer after his other finalists had already offered him.

Maybe the most impressive offer was No. 29, which came from Oklahoma. Prater attended the Sooners' spring game and had the letter with the scholarship offer laminated.

Some guy over on GVX says he knows who the big fish QB is. His only clue was think way above Hendrix or Rettig. Then someone else posted to go out tonight and look up and you will find the anwser. Could it be Star Jackson from Alabama? They did just offer Tyler Shreve.

"Highly-coveted pass-catcher Kyle Prater (Hillside, Ill./Proviso West) informed ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com that he has made another cut amongst his list of suitors.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound target is now only considering Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Illinois, Tennessee and USC. Auburn, Missouri, Michigan and Miami-FL were eliminated from his list of 10.

Additionally, Prater plans on taking all five allotted official visits before announcing his decision.
Last fall, he caught 60 passes for 948 yards (15.8 average) and nine touchdowns.

As of July 24th, 2009. Understand he is making other visits this summer still.

Is that how old this is ? We have articles and posts here from yesterday that he would only be making 2 official visits. USC and UT. I'm confused....

i would love to get Prater, and all the talk about him going to Oklahoma is false. Right now USC and the Vols are his two top teams which some of you may know, either way if he dosent commit to us atleast he most likely wont land in the SEC.

Hmm, weird. Maybe in the newest article those are the only ones he had scheduled at the time. I don't recall the article saying those were for sure the only visits he is going take. Maybe though.

I didnt see it. I was just going off those clues. Star was the best I could come up with. You know any QB's named cloud?

Wasn't Isaac Newton looking up at an apple tree when he came up with "what goes up must come down"? Cameron Newton? Haha. I wouldn't be surprised if Newton ends up at Tennessee but there's no way that was his way of hinting at Newton. If so... that's terrible.

It sucks that USC is ahead of us right now, but I definitely think its between us and usc. I just hope that when he goes to USC that he sees how more superior our facilities and conference are. Also, I hope he realizes how ghetto LA is and that knoxville is a much better college environment.

USC hasent done that great of a job developing receivers lately though especially big ones like Prater. Jarret was a bust and clearly wasent ready for the NFL and Patrick Turner did squat while at USC. It seems they have had better luck with the smaller faster receivers like Steve Smith and now Damian Williams... Not to mention how stacked they are at WR. I just think Prater would have a better career here than at USC.

Do you mean Mike Williams was a bust? Jarrett hasn't really done anything in his first two seasons but it's a little soon to call him a bust. Anyways, it may not be USC's fault these guys fail in the NFL. Williams was a 1st round pick, Jarrett 2nd and Turner 3rd. The Lions failed with Charles Rogers so all of the blame can't be put on USC for Mike Williams failing. Again, Jarrett may end up being a bust but he has only been in the NFL for two seasons so it's a little soon to call him one. He is only like 23. Either way, all of these guys got pretty good contracts after attending USC. Whether they failed or not, USC got them paid.

Jarret has had weight problems since being drafted and is so slow he will never be more than 4th or 3rd on any NFL teams depth chart at WR. Williams is just another example, sure these guys got paid but paid on potential and having NFL Size and bodys.
