'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

Guys its still big we are getting Prater on campus. With Milton coming and being in his ear it really helps.

I wonder if both will be here at the same time, or if Milton is leaving before Prater gets here. Doing things will them at the same time would be of benefit more than not.

It was scheduled that Milton get here on the 31st and Prater on the 1st. Remember Milton changed his mind a couple weeks ago, i think it is more then just a coincedence that this falls how it does, IMO.

Do really think Milton is a forgone conclusion at this point?

Our QB situation isn't effecting our chances with him?

I would say that something would have to go really wrong on his visit for him not to announce his intentions, at least to coaches, that he wants to be a Vol. He's been leaning this way for a while and now he's bringing his parents down to see us.

Cool...

It certainly feels that way but I just wonder if our QB situation will effect our recruiting as much as some on here think it will

We aren't going to land some of the top tier guys maybe that we are after without a big name QB, but we will fill up on guys that we want I think. A lot of these guys just want to know who their QB is going to be. Getting a guy like Bray IMO will go a long way towards comforting some of these players.

I think Orgeron is after this kid. I don't rule us out on him until he signs elsewhere.

I almost seems like we are doing this in reverse order. We got the Bigtime RBs, Brown and Oku, we are starting to get the OL, Fulton and Stone (will be a vol), the WRs are looking, Milton and Prater, now all we need is a QB.

Given the time it takes to build solid relationships with QB's, I think this is the only way it could work out.

That is true. One of the Rivals guy said it would be 2011 before we would see this staff full power.

Agreed...

You take Brown/Oku in 09, Prater/Milton/Fulton/Stone in 10, then you add Lemay in 11...and it's HELLO WORLD in 2012!!! :dance2:

Just the fact we made this guys top six is awesome. If we finish top three thats impressive. If we get him, sheesh, that would just be astounding...

Really good Prater article via the prospect wire.

Prater plans to take an unofficial visit to Tennessee on Aug. 1, proving that first-year Volunteers coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have made inroads with some of the nation's best players. Kiffin assigned recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron to Prater, and the top recruit has taken a liking to the former Ole Miss head coach. "He's cool," Prater said. "He's just a laid-back country guy."

I hope he decides sooner than later but naming two official visits puts it into October Probably. I also don't see him going to USC, but why not get a free trip to Cali. Before anyone gets excited remember he also narrowed his list down to a final four a month ago than it was six, and now five. But whoever gets him will probably get the best 2010 offensive prospect.

His recruitment will go to NSD. He'll talk all his visits and see what schools have to offer and what the campus, city, and team atmosphere is like. His interaction with the staff and how well the team does this year will also be factored in. We have a shot at him, because he placed us in his top 5. How well be do this year will make us or break us with alot of players just like him.
