'10 IL WR Kyle Prater

Great try but, Thats my brother Jordan Phillips. Someone has already stated that on Illini site seeing my name here. I am a new enrollee in UT, and he plays baseball for Southwestern Illinois College..

Though you had me didnt you? Great job bud. Good talk.

Right.......

So are you guys twins?

Yes, His name is Jordan, Im Josh. If you want the exact details he was born 2 minutes ahead of me. Look I know im not the most optimistic person here, i just give me own insigh thow it is. Im sorry if i seem negative, but i jsut feel theres no shot with this guy, and thats what ive said the whole time. I know im not a recruiting guru like some people, but I have a rivals prescription and I know a lot of people in Illinois so I try to stay on these guys from ILL.

Sorry if i upset anyone, just trying to give insight. I mean no one is really right or wrong until signing day. I respect what everyone does here with their input so I try to do the same, even if it isnt positive. Just didnt want to offend anyone, Im a vol fan thru and thru, just not always optimistic like a lot of people on here.

Cant we all just get along??? :)

What does your brother playing at another college have to do with the accusations of you bein on the Illni site? Inquiring minds want to know....

As i said before, if you could read I said that was him on the site. We have the same name since our names both begin with J and both were born in 1989. We've always done that. Thats not me, thats jordan. We do share info with eachother about eachothers schools though if we hear something

LOL, dude go read my post before I found your brother's profile. I don't think we get him. If we did not have the staff we have I would say no shot. With the recruiters we have though it is never over. We need Rettig or Scroggins and some other guys and then we will see. I mean likely hood 10 percent we get him tops.

And i respect your opinion, I just disagree.. thats all. I mean maybe a 5% chance, but like you said I only say that because I think the staff is tremendous at recruiting. Didnt mean to start the next WW3 here.

:eek:lol:

Sure man. Sure.

Yeah I think we have a 20% chance with Illinois having 30%, Bama 15%, OU 20%, USC 15%. Honestly thats pretty wide open and thats my personal guess. Maybe he loses interest in some of those schools later and maybe adds some but that will be the top 5. He starts looking at UT stronger after his visit. Again this is my personal prediction.

i just dont understand your logic.

prater mentions bama and usc amongst his favorites, and doesnt mention ut, but you give us a better chance at landing him than bama or usc

theres no guarantee that he is going to visit us.

Man I hate to disprove you, but you are not in the UT system. If you are enrolled for the Fall, you would already be in the system. Check for yourself:

I'm trying not to be bias but for some reason my gut tells me he's not as into bama as he says. You can tell me to take my orange glasses off (and with good reason) but thats just my gut feeling. An opinion. haha

The Tide is one of Prater's favorites.

"I'm getting down to five schools before the season starts," Prater says. "Alabama is definitely going to be in that five. Other teams like Oklahoma, USC and Illinois will be in it. Things can change, but those are the teams that talk with me the most."

One reason Prater likes Alabama is the opportunity to be another Julio Jones.

"I talk to Coach Saban and Coach Sunseri a good bit," he says. "Coach Saban is an upfront guy. He's going to shoot straight with you. He gives freshmen a fair shot and the best players play. You look at the team and a guy like Julio Jones. I look at the impact he made last season and I think I can do the same thing. They think I'm the type of player that can do it all. They like my size, work ethic and playmaking ability. I'm going to try to visit Alabama soon."

Another reason Prater likes Alabama is the opportunity to play with quarterback Phillip Sims.

"I talked with Phillip recently, and he told me Alabama was the team he picked," Prater says. "He said he felt comfortable there and that was the school for him. He was a big commit for Alabama. I've seen his film and he's a big guy with a strong arm. It's a receiver's dream to play with a good quarterback like that. That's a plus for Alabama."

Two schools Prater has already visited are Oklahoma and Illinois.

"I like the coaches at Oklahoma and Illinois," he says. "I've been to both schools and I like them. Oklahoma is a good school, and I talk with Coach Stoops some. They have an explosive offense and have big receivers. Illinois is the same way. I also like the recruiting coach at Illinois. I have a good relationship with some of their players."

USC's knack for putting players into the pros has attracted Prater's attention.

"I haven't been to USC yet, but I want to get out there," he says. "USC breeds NFL players, and it's just a good school overall. They like big receivers, and I talk with their coaches a lot. I talked to Coach Carroll a few days ago. He's a real cool guy and has a good personality."

Prater knows of a few factors that will play a role in his recruitment.

"I need to go where I feel best," he says. "I'm going to make the decision based on how my family and I feel about everything. I want to go somewhere where I can go in and work hard to get a spot. I also want to get a great education."

zero mention of TN

All those schools will have excellent qb play in the future except Illinois.

This just made me laugh...

19. Kyle Prater – Obvious connections with Zach Fulton as the two know each other well, the DC also will play well with Prater. Let’s hope Kyle isn’t a fan of glorified cheerleading coaches who wear their hat backwards, b/c he’s being courted by Auburn as well.

From an article talking about possible UT commits in the future...
