He has good size, a quick release and put very good spin on his sharp, precise passes. Manley holds an offer from Hawaii.

Man, that kid is HAWAIIAN! Listen to that accent, it sure doesn't sound Haole.

If you close your eyes, he sounds like the cook in "50 First Dates".

There's an Army Base there. I think it's the 25th Infantry Division. Could be a son of a Soldier there or Gov. Employee of the base. Plus, I didn't know white guys in Hawaii had a thick polynesian accent :)

Actually, the kid did look pretty good throwing the pill...hard to tell on just a brief clip

I saw a couple games last year. When they played Farrington (VJ Fehoko) and Kahuku. He stands in the pocket and checks down pretty good. I didn't see him force may balls. Fairly mobile, and has a strong arm. Most of his snaps are from the gun but he made throws from center also. His competion was fairly good there's about 4-5 teams here that play Cali teams etc. I had forgot about him though. Because I'm always looking at talent in the mainland on here and following the Vols. But, VJ is a best too, he went to camp a few weeks back and tore it up. The kids were calling him "Beasty".

Naw, he's ready IMO, I doesn't want to go to UH if there's something else better. He's just starting to camp and get noticed. Teams will follow him this fall and his stock will rise. He'll leave.

Agreed. He said he has an offer from Hawaii, but they already have a QB committed. He said Washington was recruiting him, but already have Montana. He talked about the mainland and about all the camps. This kid would leave in a heartbeat. He also mentioned Wyoming, Idaho and some other schools that are recruiting him, that doesn't already have a QB committed. IMO, he would jump at the chance, if a school like UT would offer.

Guys we could easily have had one very good QB by now, probably even two. The coaches put all their eggs in the Heaps basket while barely giving the other good QB' s a look. They finally started pursuing Blake Bell but not until he had pretty much already decided on OK. Then once it became apparent Heaps wouldn't sign with us, they jumped on Scroggins heavy and also started giving more attention to Brunetti, Rettig and Lamison (spelling). I'm sure they will sign at least one QB before all is said and done. My concern is if they wait until July 25 for Scroggins to announce, and he decides on USC or Florida we may end up losing out on more of the good one's still out there, especially one's currently flying under the radar so to speak. Thoughts?

Yeah, our staff is clearly full of lazy recruiters. I bet they never even spoke with Jesse until he came to campus a couple of weeks ago.

Just watched videos on Manley, Grayson, Rettig(short clips),and Scroggins. Scroggins is obviously the best of the four but I think Manley is 2nd. Rettig seems to be a little anxious at times and throws every ball as hard as he can. Grayson has a very poor throwing technique. His arm angle is Vince Youngesque. Manley seems to have some zip, throws a catchable ball, and he takes a lot of snaps under center. I like this kid

CLK and CEO's recruiting connections is probably the reason we've been focusing on CA QB prospects, largely.
I'm sure the coaches they have relationships already established are getting them anything they ask for, to help them evaluate the kids....like full game tape, setting up individual workouts just for them when they come and visit, etc. If Manley was among them, he'd be getting more attention, IMO.

Does anyone know if the staff is actively recruiting Manley or not? He won the state championship as a SOPH and lost the championship game last year while throwing for close to 3700 yds with 31TD/17INT.Definitely a gun slinger, didn't do too bad a the Super 7 in Maui either. I think he's ripe for the picking, but don't know what the staff thinks of him.

I haven't heard anything about him. Right now I think the board looks like this:
1) Tyler Bray
2) Stephen Kaiser
3) Turner Baty
4) Tyler Shreve

The staff is recruiting all 4 of them at the moment...
