I read on Scout.com that we offered this RB from the 2010 class an offer already. The report said everyone will be hearing about him next year. Anyone know anything about the guy??

Buford junior running back Storm Johnson was among the large group of recruiting targets at Sanford Stadium on Saturday for the annual Georgia-Georgia Tech contest.

“It was a nice experience,” Johnson said. “It was raining, but other than that it was a good visit.

“The coaches at Georgia treat you really well.”

Johnson, whose first scholarship offer came from Stanford, said the Dogs and several other prominent programs have indicated that they will offer him during the winter.

“A lot of schools are telling me they will offer me in January or February,” he said. “That includes Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Texas.”

On Stanford: “It’s a great school. The academics there are really good. They run the ball about 65 percent of the time. I like the coaches and atmosphere at Stanford. They’re high on my list.”

Well, he plays on one of the best football teams in the state (in any classification) at Buford. This past year he was probably second string behind Cody Getz. They've won the 2A state championship 2 years in a row. Buford is playing North Hall at North Hall next year and I'll probably go to that game, so I'll let you guys know what I see in him. I'd say if he's 1st string next year at Buford then he's probably a pretty good talent. They've been known to put out some great players down there. Darius Walker, that rb for Notre Dame a few years ago, played for Buford.

BTW, his team right now is on a 30 game win streak the past two years. That includes a game at the beginning of the season last year at Texas Stadium, and two state championship titles.

One more thing. Those amp highlights seem to be from Texas Stadium, when they played in the Herbstreit HS Classic or whatever it was called.

“Georgia has sent me some letters, and I am considering them,” Johnson said. “But nothing against them, I just want to leave the state.”

I love the way that sounds.

Well come on to Knoxville man! You will love running thru the "T" to the deafining sound of 108,000 screaming, orange bleeding fans.
