10 game all SEC schedule, best case scenario?

The Big 10 is losing marquee nonconference match ups such as Notre Dame against Wisconsin and if Tennessee should cancel their game against Oklahoma, I would like to see that game played in the future.

So it’ll be.... ‘Live from Knoxville, TN, in front of 20,000 rich alumni, and family of players, we bring you the 2020 college football season opener between Tennessee and Florida!’

No thanks, hard pass.

Actually, I’m wrong. Florida and Kentucky are on the schedule for 9/12. So will Florida play a conference game, get a week off, then play at UT which would be UT’s season opener?

To me, I would NOT like this if I’m Tennessee. That’s a decided advantage for UF, wouldn’t and shouldn’t sit well with UT folks.

Why? I can tell you right now that with the way things are trending at BEST we'll play an 8-game conference schedule with limited fan attendance this fall if things do not get progressively worse. I figure if things are delayed till the Spring there is a much higher probability of playing a full slate of games with regular fan attendance.
So, what do you do when half way through the season one team has about 10 positives and is scheduled to visit another state for a game? Make the team play at a disadvantage with a short roster? Do you allow the infected to travel so their team is not at a disadvantage? Are people going to say it is ok that you lost that game due to COVID? Are you going to say teams that have loses due to COVID get mulligans and they probably would have won a game if they had a full roster? Are you going to continue the season if several teams become affected by COVID and governors say teams are quarantined? There are just too many variables for a season to occur.

I was reading elsewhere that if they go to a 10 game SEC schedule they will redo the schedule and add the two next rotating cross division opponents to the schedule from 2021 and 2022. Ours would be Ole Miss home and LSU away.

Gotcha. I like that idea a lot better for fairness.

Except we have Bama in 2021. 👀

Texas AM in 2022 isn’t a pushover either.

But generally, I just want to play a full football season.

By the way, Georgia would have Arkansas and Miss State. Do they always draw the right scheduling stick or what?! At least they do have Bama this year.

You just wonder how this covid19 will affect players and anyone.else.From what I have heard, read about, and seen.in the medical profession, lung problems seem to be a universal affect on people who get covid. What would be the worst thing to happen to any athlete, lack of air! Some player would have to be spelled every other play because of breathing problems.Whatever the solution to football season,or any men's or women's season, track and field, cross -country etc.,the student's health and long term health has to be the deciding factor. If we play, give 'em hell Tennessee!

If we go to 10-game all SEC, then we need to add both the Mississippi teams. We have a history with kiffin and we almost hired Leech. Plus we already play bama, FL and UGA every year.

No, it's more like a middle case scenario unless you are a Debbie Downer pragmatist.

I was reading elsewhere that the cross division games we would pick up would be our next two for 2021 and 2022, which would be home to Ole Miss and at LSU.

Then we need to swiftly add NCst and Kansas to the SEC and let Tennessee play one of them instead of LSU!

We already have FL, GA and AL to play every season.

10 games with a 4 team playoff for sec champ and a random bowl scenario for an eleventh game for the remaining 10 teams. This of course hinges on the regular playoff and all bowls being cancelled.

Potentially. But it at least buys some time for a vaccine to be developed or some form of treatment to be discovered.
Don't get your hopes for an effective vaccine too high. There is evidence that the disease does not produce antibodies which last more than 6-18 months. Antibodies from a vaccine would likely be effective for a shorter period of time. This will not be known for at least 2-3 years after phase 3 trials have been completed.

Data also indicated that heart disease, stroke, and GBS increase in adults who have had Covid-19.

You're not Tennessee so I'm not sure you're in any position to tell us what should and shouldn't sit well with us.

Is there not enough going on in the world that you can't find something else to do besides worry about how we feel about playing the almighty gators?

Is there any team worth despising more than Fla? Can’t think of one.

Cancel all college sports for 2020-2021. Start fresh next year. No scholarships for any sports (won't be needed anyway when Socialism takes over, because education will be free) and all divisions will be equally dividing all revenues anyway.

Might not be a bad idea to get the SEC only schedule in place ahead of time. Why not 12 games?
Then if the dominoes start falling elsewhere, we could circle the wagons and save the season. Crown a champion by record and any tie breaker without the SECCG which would prob be a repeat anyway.
What an awesome season that would be. Even tho I'm a play more ooc games guy, this would truly be interesting. Not many patsies in this one.

Then if they had some sort of playoff, our champ would most certainly b there, even w 2-3 losses.

I was playing around with the SEC composite schedule and came up with a 10-game All-SEC Schedule. I moved the (2) week-2 SEC games to the end of the season and moved a couple of others around. It's not perfect by any means...
