I am not going to name names, but whoever in this thread says that they are glad he is gone is out of their damn mind. First of all he has done nothing wrong since he committed to us, and he was going to be instrumental to our passing game. He is probably the most skilled WR in this class and recruited hard for our beloved Vols while he was committed. I for one am going to wish him luck wherever he goes, and would expect the same from the rest of the true Vols fans. Other than maybe being an attention whore, he is a heck of a reciever and will make plays for any team in the country. Its just a shame it will not be us, so don't bash him, just give him some respect that he deserves.

Good Luck MA

Has the news been confirmed that he commited to USC. I just got off of wearesc.com and they have a post that said he commited but the linked story only said he was expected to commit to USC. The link was also to a Southern Cal writers site.

I agree that he has all the potential in the world....he would certainly help boost this class even more...

If and I say if we can pull Rogers than I wouldn't care were Ambles went as long as it's outside the SEC. And I really wish him the best of luck.

I agree and this is something else that is funny, and I am not by any means saying you. But a lot of people on here say good riddance and glad he is gone, while at the same time saying boy I don't want him going to Florida, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, or anyone else in the SEC. The reason, he is that good and we do want him here at the real UT.

Agree allorgange. I wanted him here as well. We do have some good receivers already in this class, so that helps the sting a bit. Maybe one of those will emerge as our next Meacham.

Well sounds like some sour grapes to me. If the kid was still committed to UT everyone would think he was awesome and glad to have him. Lets face it the kid was committed to the coach and not the school and I would imagine there would have been way more recruits bail if they would have not already enrolled early. I am sure a lot of these kids had a bad taste left in their mouths after this whole ordeal over dang near the entire coaching staff left. I wouldn't blame them for looking around but I am glad to have the ones who stayed and I hope things turn out well for them at UT. I do however wish that these kids would see Kiffin for what he is and choose not to play for him.

Yes. And I would love to have him be a VOL, but if his heart is somewhere else than he needs to please hisself. I just hope it is somewhere other than the SEC.

I hope so 99, we really do need some play makers in the passing game. Yeah Moore and Jones are servicable recievers, but neither are game changers and neither command a double team that opens up the rest of the offense. Ambles is a playmaker and game changer, but with work I think Hunter and Milton will be big time recievers. I will say from what I have seen Justin Hunter has remarkable upside, and if he learns how to run good routes and adds a little weight without losing speed he can dominate college football.

No one should be *glad* he's gone. But he went from sounding like the biggest All-Vol in the world, almost like he'd committed to the school and his future teammates. Then Lane left and All-Vol became a moot point.

A few commitments backed off, too, but Miller/James/Bray/Milton/Smith, guys like that all STAYED. He just exposed himself as definitely being all about the staff at that point in time to leave those quality recruits hanging after working with them to bring other recruits in. He should've been the first one out there still selling this class to other recruits when Lane left, and instead he's in Southern California soaking up the attention because Lane will give it to him.

So, yeah I'm not happy on this one. But I'm definitely "not glad" he's gone.

I wouldn't say I'm "glad" that this guy is gone.... But we really don't need him. I've never seen such a loaded class of receivers coming to TN. Milton 6'6'', Hunter 6'4'', and Meline 6'2''??? AND they are all 4 star recruits. AND they are all fast and can jump through the roof. But most importantly, these guys aren't making a spectacle of themselves and streaming live webcasts while acting like a complete fool. Tennessee has never had an affinity for wr's that think they are bigger than the team. Rather, over the years guys like Meachem, Swain, Washington, Stallworth, Price, Nash, Kent and others (at least while at UT) just did their job. They let their play on the field speak for them. So Ambles will fit in great at USC, but I don't think he'd be well received at UT.

Not mad at Ambles at all, the guy was one of our best recruiters. If anything we should thank him and wish him the best of luck.

As Vols, we all know what you get when you put your money on X. I just hope it works out for the kids, and MA...but I hope X sinks like a stone.

I can't see how he thinks he is going to get to play early..I mean they are stacked. Prater, Woods, and now Ambles? Good luck seeing the field...

He's either not concerned about early playing time or overconfident enough to think he can beat those guys out. He was trying to get Prater to commit to UT with him at the Army AA game, but of course, that was before Sir Lies-a-Lot left.

The only problem I see is that I am not sure Meline and Hunter are SEC ready WR's. I hope our WR coach is as good as advertised cause these three WR's are going to need to be ready by 2011. As sophmores or RS freshman, this could be our starting 3 WR's. And might I add they will be a handful if they can put on some weight without losing their measurables, and learn to run good routes.
