'10 GA OT JaWuan James

Yeah, its been the same for years now but I can't bring myself to change it due to the level of kick ass it brings to the table.

Great movie. Probably in my top 5 favorite comedies. Right up there with Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, Clerks 2, Grandma's Boy and The Hangover. Dazed and Confused is just a great movie in general. :)

Don't change the avatar. Unless it's Juwanna Mann for Jawuan James. :eek:k:

If JJ reads about himself on boards, let's hope he's past that stage. If he were to read some of this stuff.... he is probably thinking we have one dysfunctional fan base.

I guess we kind of do though. I am not Crompton fan but some of the stuff said about him on a personal basis is brutal.

Can't we all just get along? Do it for Juawannaman.

You are right! Sab I love u man!:cray::cray:

Hey sab, who's the better prospect, James or stone?

Hard to say in that I think they project at different positions. I think Stone ends up a guard and James a tackle. As far as upside, Stone has all the upside in the world, you just never know until you get these guys on campus and put them through a camp with pads.

If you held a gun to my head I would say Stone based on the upside, but it's really a tossup.

Do we get both?

I think we get JaWuan for sure. Stone is impossible to get a read on at this stage, but some people have privately told me that UT is the team to beat. Hope that turns out to be accurate. Domers think he's a lock to go there.

dude sab no offense but im pretty sure you're the only one on this forum who would say stone is a better prospect then james.

I'm well aware of that and I've seen the video, so thanks. I'm not basing my evaluation of him on one camp. That would be stupid. Like I said, it's a tossup and I give Stone the nod because of upside. Can you not read or something?

I'm pretty sure that if you put James up against Miller, Willis, Jacques, and Copeland, he would be raped too. OL are at a great disadvantage against speed rushers without pads on imo...

I have to differ with the o line haveing a harder time in the speed rush. That drill is made for the o line to lose, but in my experience is that the physical bullrushers are harder with out pads, but that's just from my experience of playing both o line and d line. But it all doesn't really matter much.

As a former O-lineman, it is more difficult without pads. There comes a time when you have to stop the bullrush and you can not do it without a face mask on. Plus you have to look at the distance at where the kids are staring from during this drill. During an actual game situation the tackle can create alittle distance on the LOS. These drills in these camps are set up as an advantage to the DL not the OL.

exactly...:good!:

I dont know how you can measure upside, but as of right now, I would say James is better.
Stone should dominate more in his games and he doesnt. I will get another chance to watch him this week.

All that being said, I still want him. I do believe that our coaches can develop him (ok, that is an upside statement), but athleticly, James is better.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

forcing the OL to work from a disadvantage is how you make them better.

All of my scrimmages pitching in college, our pitching coach made us start with a 3-1 count. With good hitters and aluminum bats, one learns quickly to throw strikes without giving in.

I agree, it will make them better. But at these type of camps they are looking for rankings. As a part of a regular practice drill, it works well. When I coached, my linemen use to hate when we were in full pads and I made the take their helments off, to do a certain pass blocking drill. My oldest son still has nightmares! But it did teach them how to gain seperation and not let the d-linemen get their hands on them. Where the head goes the body will follow!

To clearify. The purpose of pass blocking without a helmet is to teach the o-lineman not to over extend his head in front of his feet. That way he has his weight back over his legs and has a better base(base is the most important thing here). He will not be as easily pulled or swam. In laymans terms, when the d-lineman puts his hands on him, he can't jerk him as easy!

Jawuan James, who once was committed to Alabama, now is considered a Tennessee lean over Georgia in what appears to be a two-team battle. He likely will take official visits to both before deciding.

Mike Farrell... UT leads...

So right now, we lead for Moses, Stone, and James! I would love all three. After last week, I would like to see all reminaing schollys go to Oline!

James will be in Gainesville this weekend per a Gator on another site. It should make it pretty obvious how much help we need on the OL.

More like Moses, James and Cullen... Definitely an outstanding class of linemen if they can get them all. It will be interesting to see how the staff fills the other 4 spots.

What exactly turned him off to Bama ? Any particular instance ? Or is the fact that he thought " Damn I have to live in Tuscaloosa!"
