Told rivals amp team he is still %100 solid to Alabama. Only official is to the Capstone and nowhere else. To keep everyone entertained, why dont you go down BAMAs commit list and start a new rumor every week?

Lol - how many times have recruits told someone they are firm in their commitment only to switch their verbal (or sign to another team) the next week. Happens all the time. They do it to keep people off their back if they're considering something like that.

How ignorant - now to be fair - I'm not saying that he in fact isn't solid to Bama - but hard to ignore all the smoke.

Actually all the smoke came from boards like this regarding James. People jump the gun all the time. Rival teams love to say something that is there but isn't and read to much into something that is said and in this case something that wasn't.

How many times is P Sims decommited from UA and commited to UT. I have lost count. BTW P Sims and his family are very close and since he his graduating in Dec. the family is putting their house on the market and moving to TTown. Nice article on their family so they stay close.

Regarding J James no where is there an article saying he is looking elsewhere. If there is please post it. That does not mean some poster on one of these boards whose friend knows someone that said this. Just like the friend of a friends cousin that spoke with Kiffin and said a big fish was coming to UT, and than the boards turned it into Sims decommiting from UA and going to UT because the big fish was a QB.

In the end it really doesn't matter, because UA will get a great class. We willl always have players that verbally commit but sign elsewhere. If they don't like the depth in their position in front of them, want to start as a freshman, or who the season for the team they verbally commited to does not bode well they leave. The problem with getting early commits. It will not matter if any of our players decommit before NSD and go elsewhere. We will have a great class and get the majority of the verbals to sign. Even then we are only getting maybe 15-20% of the players we originally wanted to give a verbal.

So if J James, B Sims, or P Sims goes elsewhere so be it, it will not hurt us as much as other rival fans think it will. It is all of part of the environment. Honestly I only want players to commit that know that is where they want to play and have the maturity to realize that and follow through. All this silent commit BS and mega TV drama on NSD is just immaturity and lack of integrity.

I am saying nothing is gauranteed with a prospect until they sign on NSD or after their NLI. They get caught up in the hype sometimes to early like when they visit and commit right then.

If I am player I would look at playing time and where are my best chances to get it early. Second I would look at which school has the a staff that can develop me for the next level and beyond. In the case of J James he probably would not see the field until atleast his 2nd year there. DJ Fluker who was a better OL coming out of HS than James will be could break the starting line up, atleast not yet, so if I am James I would be concerned if playing time is an issue. Regarding staffs, yes I believe that Saban and company are one of the top staffs in CFB, but the SEC is loaded with other staffs just as good, as also some other schools in the country.

If J James is really concerned about playing time he might be looking elsewhere. We have a good depth of OL now with 3 commited for 2010, including J James and we have 3 more we are still looking at. So who knows. My thing is I have not seen one statement from J James regarding the rumors. They might be true. All I have seen is speculation. Even your one VN writer said he spoke with someone at CC and they said this, but the person at CC which knows the situation, I assuming that is who Matt spoke with, wrote an article saying there is no legs to the rumor. Until James makes a statement or decommits that is all it is.

When it comes down to it I hope all these players find the best fit for them and enjoy their time at that school.

When I spoke with James' coaches regarding Uzomah they said James mentions Tennessee still and says he could play year one there. That Tenn was his 2 and although unlikely he is drawn by the fact he can play early here. If Bama takes another OL commit James may come our way bottom line. And that is just a may not a for sure. Is this a rumor?

I can see that because again if I was a player I would want to play as earlier as possible. So why not go where I have that chance. Also for me a rumor is when something like what you posted is then turned into something like I just read that someone spoke to James coach and he said he was decommiting from UA because he wants early play time. Your statement doesn't say that, but others would read into it and start posting rumors and try and validate it with statements or other posters that never said that.

I will say Bama usually holds on to what they have. But I do think the earlier these Kids commit the more likely they start to second guess those choices.

The trend is to fill up ASAP. But sometimes I think it hurts you. I like having a little room left and also the way our staff continues to recruit these kids. I feel like they have a chance left with a few kids including James, Dorsey, Prater (if he chooses USC), and Quarles.
