Michael Taylor (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) showed why he is continuing to see his stock rise. He possess good speed, which allows him to stay with running backs out of the backfield, and a high football I.Q that helps him read and react to what is going on.

"It was an OK performance, it was not my best, I could have did a little bit better but I competed hard and gave it my best effort," he said. "I expected the cream of the crop as far as competition; I know everybody has some talent so it was a good experience."

In recent weeks, Taylor has seen several new schools jump in and talk with him about bringing his talents to their campuses in the fall of 2010.

"It has picked up pretty heavily for me in the last few weeks but I'm continuing to stay open and make my decision my senior year," he said. "Georgia, Miami, Virginia Tech and LSU are the main ones I'm looking at right now and then Georgia Tech a little."

Linebacker Michael Taylor (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) is one of the hardest-hitting prospects at his position in the Peach State. He has more than a dozen scholarship offers and is planning to hit the road this summer to visit multiple schools.
Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami (Fla.), LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Stanford and Virginia Tech all have offered. The 6-foot, 191-pounder said that Tennessee has also offered verbally, but has not sent a written offer.

"I am going to try to get to all the schools that have offered me," Taylor said. "About 20-25 schools came by Westlake to check out me and the players here during this time they can go out (spring evaluation period) so far."

Taylor is in the midst of spring practice at his high school.

"I am trying to get better every day," he said. "I am trying to work on block shedding, so I don't get caught up inside when people try to block me."

I would love to have this guy. Just looked at some of his highlights and the kid is a hard hitter and has blazing speed (for a LB). Needs to bulk up some, but has a lot of potential.

I'm for sure going to visit Tennessee this fall once the season starts," Taylor said of his interest level. "I called Coach (Lance) Thompson up there last week and we had a really good talk. I want to come up and see Rocky Top and check out a game, I've heard a lot about it.

He is possibly coming up for an unofficial this weekend per Rob Lewis. Also says that we sit good with him and it wouldn't be a stunner if he pulled the trigger.

He has supposedly tried to commit to UGA and Miami and I'm told both have guys higher on their boards. Luc and Fortt both said they would be visiting UGA officially so I don't know what to think about UGA being full at LB. IF you guys offer, I think he commits on the spot.

FWIW, Kipp Adams with UGAsports predicted that he would end up at Stanford. I saw Taylor play last year against Newnan. Taylor was a busy man in a losing effort (43-0). I remember him being in on a lot of tackles and just having the look of a good player. Also, the Warmack kid on that team that signed with Bama wasn't even the best OL on his team. I was very unimpressed with him, but sometimes kids tank it when they are getting beaten like that. I'll see Taylor again this year.

That guy is not reliable at all. He always makes posts on VQ that try to make UGA look better than everyone else and to downplay everyone Tennessee is going after. He's sly about it though, he always throws in a little something extra to make it sound more reliable like "he tried to also commit to Miami".

Atlanta, Georgia linebacker Michael Taylor is a name to watch this weekend. Taylor will be visiting Tennessee and told me by phone that if all goes well then he very well may commit on his visit. It's something worth watching over the next couple of days. I'll have a story a little bit later.

His video is good. A sure tackler with a motor and will never give up. He has great pop with his hits

He'd be a very good pickup and they need to continue to increase their talent at Linebacker. They weren't left with much among the upperclassmen when they arrived.

this guys highlight tape is impressive. He is also playing against the ATL boys, so the competition is there. He will def be a 4* by signing day. EXCELLENT PROSPECT!!!!
